How old were you the last time you moved out of your parents' house?

If you left but then moved back in for a while, at what age did you last leave?

    I was 19.

16, got asked to leave because I was too mouthy for my mums abusive boyfriend at the time. That was such a long time ago and so much has happened since.

I was 18, we moved out into a cosey little townhouse in a really good area where we were living.

I didn't know it at the time but my partner had actually bought the townhouse and I was paying rent, but really I was paying my mortgage without knowing.

Permanently, 23. Typical late blooming millenial lol. I was in and out before then, at school or staying with friends for long periods of time.

I knew a guy who just moved from friends house to friends house and had like two outfits and the only thing he took with him was a PlayStation 2 from house to house. :D

I couldn't imagine living with my parents at 25. Like the moment I was out of home I just could never go back. The independence we had. I'd feel bad too on ways because I'd just not see my folks. I was out of home and didn't want to go back.

I like going back now but it's much different and always seems much smaller now.

My husband stayed with his parents until he was 27 years old.

He left when he got married to his first wife.

I can't imagine going from mom and dad to spouse.

As in they got married and moved in on the marriage date?

The friend we took to America that was a jerk, he was 31 and still with his parents. He's found a girl now and moved in with her. They're in a relationship but not married.

I don't think I could have done group housing with friends. We had a couple stay with us, was my bestest friend ever and her man. They lived rent free because were saving for their own place. Even though they were great friends I wouldn't do that again I don't think. Especially for years lol.

My brother is in his 40s and lives with my mom

He moved out for a few years when he got a job out of town, moved back in as soon as he transferred back to town.

Oddly enough he has the best job and is the best educated out of all my siblings. I dunno, theres something weird there psychologically, my dad died when he was 18 and hes felt responsible for my mom ever since..even though i'm pretty sure she prefers having her own space and him living elsewhere lol. Its kind of weird

I guess they moved in a month or so before they got married. They got their inheritances early and built the house.

If my parents were sick it would be a much different story but I just meant when everyone is healthy. Actually now that I think about it, that just doesn't happen to everyone.

Why does it feel like I was dealt white privileged all of a sudden? :D

    I don't know!

I cannot imagine taking an inheritance while my parents were still living. I'd feel icky. They both did it.

Yeah, I thought you only got that when they passed on lol.

I've already told my parents I just want the family tree book. Realistically I'm the only one that's going to look after it. 600+ years of our family, means a lot to me. Just for the history really.

It's funny when you look at a name and date of 600 years old and you're related to that person. Without them would I even exist? I've got no image of what they look like, but they're of my skin too. Blows my mind.

I've moved in and out of my parent's house off and on throughout my life. Left at 19, came back at 23. Moved out at 23 later that year. Moved back in for a year at 29 then left again at 30.

I lived on my own for a while at 16. I moved out completely when I was 19.
