Astrology has failed to work for me, but here goes one last chance...

I don't know...so many people find it to be uncannily accurate, and honestly a lot of people I know who've had their charts done I've read - and agreed. But it's completely useless for me. My chart simply does not match who I am. I sort of want this stuff to be real, or at least I'd be the sort who'd have fun pretending, but how can I even pretend when my chart is so ridiculously off?

This is no offense to those who believe in astrology, I can definitely see the appeal. I mean, it appeals to me - and hugely so. I just can't get it to work for me, even for fun.

So, because of the accuracy I have seen in others' charts and the natural interest I have in it, I'm giving it one last chance (though I admit I sort of doubt it will come to anything). Can anyone recommend any sort of free service (which I know will be inferior to paid ones), that will give me somewhat decent results?

I struggle with the complexity of Astrology - all the supposed influences we get from "our" alignment of planets, in fact I don't believe that those planets out there are responsible for any of the Energy and Behaviors we get from the snapshot of the heavens we get when we are born.

But you're right it does work, but for some of us it is too complex and doesn't answer a lot of the questions we may have.

I have always just looked at the traits of our Signs, those of the inner planets will help us see our personality more completely.

As far as a site that is wonderful and accurate, I would goggle Astro.com and click on the "enter birth data" choice. Then save it to your computer and post it here so I can look at it. Or just give me your particulars and I will give you a reading of our Elements and their Behaviors.

I promote a simpler Astrology, one where we just look at our 3 "Guides" - our Rising, Moon and Sun Signs. From them we can understand much about how we got to this point in our lives. I also believe we are strongly influenced by the people and places we were raised in. This "environment" has shaped our Signs into the person we have become and we need to see how our families "character" has modified our own. By knowing ourselves we can break free from those traits that don't belong to us.

My rising sign is Aries, my moon sign Virgo, and my sun sign Capricorn.

The main temperament I can't relate to is Capricorn. It just doesn't describe me well at all. (And my chart is very Capricorn heavy).

 

I know what you're saying. I don't know your age but our Sun really doesn't become stronger in us until after age 30. We also have to deal a lot with the Feelings (ASC) and Emotions (Moon) that are part of childhood and Adolescence. My Capricorn was hard to see until I got to around 50. All it seems to do for me is structure my projects or plans, keeping them in the back of my mind. It also has lots of opinions about stuff but even that is hard to differentiate from my knowledge offering Gemini. Capricorn is also the Intellect organizer, able to see better ways to operate things (opinions). Being in your Sun it is your parental "Super-ego", planning and structuring your life so you can have a better Future.

Virgo in the Moon is cautious in what it says, especially in new surroundings (new people) but of course Aries isn't afraid to say what's on its mind so those two could be going back and forth inside you.

When we look at our Signs by the Elements you have an adventurous Fire Sign (Aries), and two security seeking Earth Signs. Fire wants to go and do while Earth wants to stay and be comfortable. The key to ourselves is in keeping all parts happy - a little bit of give and take.

As we get older we also will find Joy from our Venus and Desire from Mars. But first we have to be happy with our Feelings and Emotions.
