anybody know what this course covers ???? thinking of going back to school for this but making sure its the right thing for me
Hi peaceful libra....going back to school can open the doors to a lot possibility and congrats on making the step towards higher education.. the two years will cover core Microsoft server infrastructure applications and basic cisco networking devices. by the end of the 2 years you should have a good understanding on how the network layers work with each other and how to maintain and develop basic hardware and software needs for small-mid size company's. as far as career choices you would prob enjoy working in a data center racking and wiring servers and network attached storage devices....hope that gives you a little more insight
gee, maybe you should check the course description since i'm sure you didn't come up with that course name by yourself.
Hey peaceful libra, Being in IT for 28 years, let me suggest that a 2 year associate degree should be just where you start. You would be destined for long hours because you would probably end up in data center operations, and much of the maintenance you will have to perform will be after business hours and weekends. If 2 years is all you want or can afford to do, then once you get a job start plugging away at getting certifications. Network security is pretty hot. Best wishes.
