Any other fans of the man and his works? I'd say not only has he proved a profound influence on my writing, being exposed to him has had a major influence upon me as a human being. When I was younger I remember reading 'A Season In Hell' and just being amazed in this sorta cosmic state feeling that someone who lived 100 years or more before me so eloquently described so much about me and my goals and experiences.. 'Illuminations' also blew me away, all those lucid perceptions of everyday life-- sudden revealations stronger than years of psychedelic drugs could produce. One of the true pieces of art, literature at its most powerful.

"He was mean... perhaps even ruthless and perverse... a tortured soul, but still one of the greatest poets that ever lived." (from Eddie & the Cruisers)

Though I'm curious, I never read any Rimbaud--I just watched E & the C a zillion times. Eddie is portrayed as a 50s rock'n'roll incarnation of Arthur Rimbaud. His last composition is a song called "A Season in Hell". Any Rimbaud fans care to comment on that film?

Ooo I love this poet. He has an amazing ability to be vile and beautiful at the same time. I love his work "The Sun has wept Rose" Here is a fan site for him and I just love this place. http://www.rimbaud.150m.com/jnar.html
