Yes I agree.'Forever Changes' melodically could be the most beautiful pop album of all time. It's just a bit short on solid 'rock 'n' roll' tracks.

I saw Arthur Lee & another incantation of 'Love' at The Queen Elizabeth Hall,South Bank in June 2002.
All the tickets were 'sold out' months in advance so I left my work early & queued up at the box office. After a couple of hours I purchased a 'restricted view' ticket for one third the normal price. It turned out that it was a 'pillar' in the way but it didn't block my view of the stage at all.I took the empty seat next to me!.
The first act was a woman on bass guitar & man on acoustic guitar, singing porno ditties!.Then 'LOVE ' hit the stage & the audience went crazy when Arthur Lee walked out.

I've seen many live pop acts:pink Floyd,Motorhead,Saxon,Whitesnake,Crosby Stills & Nash,Hawkwind,Roger McGuinn,Deep Purple etc. but Arthur Lee & Love was the very best live pop act I've ever seen!.

Why?........good question.Because Arthur Lee had a stage persona & presence that was exactly preserved from 1967.Hence you had been transported back to the vibrant nignts at 'Bido Litos' on the strip. The audience all got out of their seats.Dozens of us were literary dancing to the 'Love' repetoire.(I did a sort of jig to & fro! :& ).One blond girl was dancing like a sixties go-go dancer - very visual & convivial!.I have never seen an audience so appreciative.

Bryan Maclean died on Christmas Day 1998.Ken Forssi is also dead.

Arthur's gone to join them.........& meet up with his mate Jim Morrison. It was Arthur who got Jac Holzman of Elektra records interested in 'The Doors'.

Goodbye Arthur.I'm glad I got the chance to see you on stage performing the 'Love' classics, four years ago. Thankyou for the music!.

Yeah, I just read about this a minute ago... geeze. Not another one. (o_O) I should give Forever Changes a good spin; it's been a while.

Damn, who's gonna be next... Roky?

and remember, syd took the riff to "my little red book" by love for the intro to interstellar overdrive..........

he had a fond affection for arthur lee and his band.....

kinda weird that they both die around the same time.

Yeah! And I find it dissapointing that there are so few fans of Love and Arthur Lee here! Isn't this a hippie forum?
