First thing, so what where he lives?
Where I live there is nearly a 50-50 split between "indigenous" people and "ethnic" people.
So I see other races everywhere I turn.
Did you think I lived in a place with nobody that was different to me?
    Umperlumper land, perhaps
From what he said, I have no reason to believe he does not respect those around him.
He did say he was racist.
I guess you read what he said from there.
So I am commenting on that.
    Nothing more.
    Chill the fuck out woman...

the global society we live in is set up specifically to classify people. if not by their race, then by what they do, what they're good at, how much money they have, etc. etc. we all try very hard to fit into various boxes so we can be classified.

so do i have preconceived notions or perceptions of people based on what category or classification i believe they belong to? yes. do i discriminate against them based on those categories, or believe that any one of those categories is somehow inferior to any other category? no.

we are all different and unique. yet we have remarkable similarities to each other. different ethnicities, cultures, "races" do have some generalities about them. do i use these in order to help myself better understand others? hell yes! in order to interract with someone from say... india, i wouldn't ignore the fact that they're from another country, another culture, another skin tone. everything, from culture to skin color affects the way a person lives their life. in order to get along together in a global community, we need to be aware of these differences between cultures, between people of different skin colors, between people from one block to another. otherwise, we're gonna go around treating everyone the same, which is not appropriate, because no one is the same as anyone else.

am i a racist? fuck no. i love all people, of all different races, cultures, whatever. are there some groups of people i have a harder time getting along with on a day to day basis because of the fact that we come from such different cultures? of course. but that doesn't make them any less valuable to me as another member of our global community.

one of the things that has continually bothered me in the discussions of race/culture relations (not just in this thread, but in other situations) is the tendancy of people to try and ignore the differences between races and cultures, in hopes that will make racism go away. it doesn't. just because you notice it doesn't mean you dislike it or treat it in a negative way.

people just get sooo hyped up about all this, when the solution to the "problem" is just to acknowledge our differences, and realize that it makes up a whole bunch of different strengths that can work together for a lot of greater good. :D

    I'm not racist *but*...

Different races and racial groups ( eg nationalities) seem to have common traits- either genetic or socially created.Even different parts of Britain have "typical types".
And I think massive scale immigration is a scourge of Far Right Capitalism ( in Britain anyway).
I hate a lot of foreigners , and alot of my ( British)neighbours.
Maybe I'm allowed to be racist cos I'm half foreign? : )

nth said what i would have said, fucking eh!
ignoring racial differences is fucking bullshit
i hate pc, and people that take pc thoughts and ideas to extreme levels
living in canada i am force to have politically correctness shoved down my throat
    it's fucking bullshit
    <i swear a little when i get riled up...>
i am racist toward dumb fucks
my hatred stems toward everyone, equally

i could be considered racist in my humor, but i think thats mainly because racist jokes are the funniest and i like it when i offend someone
people that get offened are amusing to me because being offended isn't something i'm capable of

i once got called a racist in elementary school, i think i was like 10, i called a black guy a piece of shit, but that was just because he was a piece of shit, and at 10 i didn't know all the colourful and savoury words i know now

one of the things i did long ago was take the idea of judgement and throw it out the window
it's a useless emotion to have and i have no time for it, i get to know someone and then i make judgements
i've been judged alot based on the way i look, from in school where i was considered a nerd cause i wore classes to even now where people still judge me but now it's cause i'm "pretty"
    it's all bullshit

i am racist, i hate the human race

    I like that tee , where can I buy it? : )

Actually McDougals flour in England has these guys with bowler hats and suits in the cartoon ads.
In Northern Ireland , during the traditional Catholic v Protestant "Unionist"
rioting and marching season , the Protestants will have these bowler hatted guys leading their march and riot.
Catholics will see them as the Sectarian equivalent of Hitler.

I never knew McDougals were staunch Unionists.
Maybe the idea was copied from a Northern Ireland idea?

    well said.

I would love to say that i have no prejudices what so ever but when I really sit back and watch my thoughts, there are some judgements or stereotypes that come into play. I then have to choose what to do and how to respond to them.

I don't think I am in most ways but there are times I realize I have this sort of judgement.

that being said, I have dated white men, black men, philipino men.....made no difference to me as long as we connected and got along well.:cheers2:

The thing is , that to understand different races , you have to be aware of cultural "themes" , maybe genetic themes- positive or neg.

    I mean take the Welsh.
( Someone *please* take the Welsh).

Call em all gifted singers , wonderful at rugby , friendly , culture-honouring music lovers they'll be beaming at the generalisation u've just made.

But if they're called inbred , sheepfucking , thieving , unemployed , fanatical
holidayhome bombers , suddenly you're being racist: )

    Its a two-edged sword: )

I don't think I'm racist, but I do have a problem with some of the local Indians. Nothing to do with race, at least on my part, though.

I grew up in a racist household and always hated it and never said anything..just vowed to always go against any kind of racism..still hard sometimes with pre judging somebody by their race, then usually finding out I was way wrong.

Anyway most of this "you're racist" stuff isn't racism at all.
    Its social politics/social issues.
It really pisses me off to see these people saying "yeah I love Britain , really wanna come over and integrate"( thro their translator)

What they really mean is" Yeah Britain's a fucking soft touch. I wanna come over and fuck it , and make sure my kids and wife never bother to learn English".

Time and again , I find certain people from racial groups in certain sectors are scheming rats. Not ALL of em , just the ones I've happened across.
    That ain't racism.Its social observation.
