so a new study says half of all americans are on some kind of medication.
in another forum dilligaf fequents this question was asked and the percentage of people responding yes to that poll is 55%.
that is however a bit older crowd so i was wondering about the younger generations..

    are you on prescription medication?

i havent taken a prescription drug in at least 10 years, and i dont intend to if i can help it..

There is (or at least was) a healthy discussion goin' on about it in that thread, Ritalin thread is pretty interesting too.

To answer your question though... no I am not, and never ever ever ever ever ever plan to be on any prescription medication unless I absolutely need it for health reasons.

I recently had to take a course of antibiotics and some painkillers after a motorcycle accident but apart from that, I've taken none in over 12 years.

Do you include contraceptive pills for the ladies in prescription drugs, cos that would skew the results a little.

Why is that red? They are not made to cure anything but rather prevent something, just like mental health drugs and painkillers. And many others.
I mean sure many mental health drugs SAY that eventually they will cure something but I mean come on now.
I was on Zoloft once from like, 12-13, havent taken anything but opiate pills since. Never will again, beer is my medication.

Birth Control pills are not only taken for the sake of preventing pregnancy. Many women have painful periods, and at times they take the pills simply for that. I really wouldn't count birth control as "prescription medication", especially in the sense HHB means it.

I get paid on Friday, and I start tasting the local Florida brewed beer Friday. I can't wait. :p

yes i feel,if you are on a prescribed medication at the moment it should count as a yes.. any medication even antibiotics, pain meds, contraceptives,,etc. ..
this is not about what kind of prescription med,,its a simple yes or no poll with no middle ground..

I dont know man, I would. I dont want to get into it because we all have different opinion and I never want to trample on someone's right to do what they want to their own body (fuck, I think heroin should be sold at CVS) but they are not required by nature, women have not needed them since the dawn of creation, and they are pills given to you by a doctor which you pay for. That counts as medication to me.
But I realize what your getting at and I understand the difference.

I'm currently on 30mg of diazepam, but I don't have a prescription. I feel happy and relaxed, which is always nice.

OK, I just wanted to clarify if it was a straight yes/no or were you looking for specific types of medication.

Relay, when I said that they would skew the results, I meant that there would obviously be a high number of women taking contraceptives thus leading to a fairly high average.

I don't know why but I just presumed that he was not looking to include this figure in a poll showing, what I assumed to be, his perceived public reliance on script drugs. But I suppose in reality, why shouldn't they be included.

oh i dont "perceive" anything.. the fact of the matter is a large part of this nation as well as the UK and im sure much of europe is being medicated through there public water systems..

that is far more a issue for me than someone being brainwashed into running to the doctor looking for a magic pill to cure what ails them...

    Me too, Anna.......me too:D

Now I'm just waiting for my weed to come in the mail from another dear friend. It will be nice to smoke again especially considering the first weed I'm gonna smoke after a month long break will be some Purple Kush, Jack Herer, Island Honey, and Juicy Fruit x Early Girl. The wonderfully potent weed is gonna be a great first session after the break:spliff:
