I used to be pretty to the point on the phone, now I like to amble a bit and talk about not very much with some of my friends on the phone. Texts are okay for telling or asking factual stuff, but for me they're a million miles away from having a real chat with someone.

As the times have changed, I have become a texter since that’s what everyone does. People seem to think a phone call is too invasive these days which is weird. If you FaceTime someone, they really feel violated. Lol

But a text conversation takes WAY longer.... You could either have a 3 minute conversation or text back and forth with someone for half an hour. Both get the same amount of information out.

For instance, that took far less than time than listening to a dial tone.

you scribbling out a sentence and a couple words really quick in this thread proves nothing :p
I’m talking about an actual conversation, planning an event, etc..

yeah, it depends on what you're trying to accomplish. 95% of the time text is preferable though.

A voice call allows for 45 percent of full communication to occur. Of meaning intended and understood, 38 percent is tone of voice. In-person is, of course, best. Most human communication, 55 percent of the total, occurs from body language and facial expression.

Text on a screen provides a 5 percent chance of conveying information and having it understood. If you're thinking about sending a text message, or considering responding by text to one you've received, don't bother. You're wasting your time, and likely the other person's as well. Unless you have nothing to say, that is. If you have nothing to say, go ahead and send the text. It has about the same effect.

In case you're wondering about the math, the text itself offers only a 7 percent chance of conveying meaning or understanding what the person who sent you text meant. A voice call is 38+7 (tone of voice plus words spoken). Read on a phone's screen, as opposed to something like a slip of paper or billboard, that 7 percent drops to 5 percent.

First choice - in person. Second choice - voice call. Third choice - text on a piece of paper. Last choice - text on a screen - essentially worthless as a means of human communication. If you're a big fan of text, you're probably an ineffective communicator.

Text is is fast and cheap. It isn't good. Things that are fast and cheap rarely are.

If I have a very specific mission and I need quick answers, I will call. Anything else--text is easier.

Yeah, I try to be more of a talker, but most of my friends and associates like to text more. I mostly text silly stuff like memes to my buddies but rather have a phone conversation if I have something weighing heavy on my mind.

Always A Talker......Never Sent A Text In My Life......When I Talk With Someone I Can Learn

A Lot From The Tone Of Their Voice.......A Lot Of Peeps Change Their Tone When

They Are Lying......Can't Pick That From A Text......

    Cheers Glen.

Yeah but the you have to talk to 'em. What if you're happy and wanna have a chin wag and the person on the opposite you can hear they don't wanna talk?

That's why a simple "brahhh wats Ur plans 4 Th e weekend bruzz" comes in handy. Then they get back to you when they're feeling better or they ring right then and there. :)

I know I ring people straight after they text me like that.

You're at the supermarket, you're arms a full, you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket calling, you gotta leave it. Feel like a rude pick now Fuuuuck I didn't pick up. ~rewind~ you're at the supermarket, you're arms a full, you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket from a message, all good I'll just quickly check that when I put my grocerys down on the belt. Oh it's just Brody asking what I'm doing tonight. Cool.
