According to a passionnate vegan today im evil and hypocritical for giving £20 to a charity dude in town because i eat meat and thus ''Hitler'' . Are the majority of humans evil then for this simple overlooked fact of meat is murder?
No. mur·der (mûrdr) n The unlawful killing of one human by another, especially with premeditated malice.
i think when people say 'meat is murder' they are either using 'murder' as a metaphor or are just... ignorant. Going off on a tanjent though, Nobody is truely 'right' 'wrong' 'good' or 'evil' Those are just words which we have given our selves. In some soscieties one thing is frowned upon, in another it is praised. In the vegan society it is 'evil' in other societies it is 'surviving'. The facts of the universe say do what you want, not what other people want to want.
I find that most ridiculess statement to have been made by a vegan. I don't seem to be growing any bat wings or horns!:X Thats just bullshit! Don't listen to such foolishness. let them believe what they want to believe.
As above, don't think it's evil. In some places it's about survival. In better developed areas less so, but the choice to eat meat still doesn't make people the anti-Christ!
I remember reading something a while back that said any given person has "x" number of associations they can actually keep in their head. In other words, you can only know so many people, who they are, where they come from, before you become over-loaded. After you reach this point, in order to file a new person away, somebody has to be knocked out. Obviously, this would not be a concious thing, but those people who have less consequence to you and your life might be "forgotten". (For some of us, "people" really does represent anyone with some tangible personality) Taking this information for perspective, lets try a basic morality test: You are given a choice of two associations, one who must die and one who must live. (No consequence other than the ceasing of this life...) One is, say... the nephew of a coworker who you barely know. The other is your dog, who has been your best and most loyal friend for 7 years. What do you choose? It isn't all black and white, and whoever says "murder" only applies to humans if friggin species-ist! Look at what WE'VE done to this planet, and THEN try to tell me we're more deserving of living on it than any other kind of being who also lives here...
I'm not saying all of us are "evil" - I honestly don't see the real connection between that idea and "meat is murder"... I'm just trying to add a new point of view to this discussion, where it seems everyone just files the sentiment of "meat is murder" under "ridiculous"
if someone told me that meat was murder ,i would say that a person making that statement was either 1.ignorant,2.hippocitical or 3.a murderer themselves ,and ask them which one they were.to wear leather products ,or eat meat or use bonemeal to grow your veggies or use self adhesive stickers or etc.etc. you either use animals or animal byproducts .so in the end no one but no one doesn't use animal byproducts in one form or another ...not even self adhesive postage stamps to mail their letters of protest
Don't dogs only live to about 10 years anyway? So after seven years of loyal service it'll be near dead. I think. Sorry for the off topicness
That just messed up! Okay I can eat a cow, chicken, whatever but a dog! U got to be shitt'n me! Have u lost your freak'n mind. Eating a dog is as bad as having a dumnass for presidant. Goddamn! I am sorry if u take offense to this, but....i do have a right to an opinion.
We are not murederes, we are not evil...we just are. If we find a track that lets us feel harmonious inside...it will be easier to give out more goodness. I dont feel that meat eaters are murderers. As long as we respect the process of life and give the good that we contain to the life that we come in contact with us..... Humans are not evil...we just have to find wht makes us happy..theres alot of misdirection happening..
Depends what you mean by "evil". I'd define evil along the lines of some conscious, malicious intent. Eating meat isn't something we do to be malicious, we do it because we need to eat, and meat tastes good and is nutritious. It's natural to eat meat. Now, why can we eat a cow, but not a person? It's not because of our inherent intelligence, because we also don't eat people with extreme mental handicaps, even though they might not even be aware of anything. Seriously, there really is no rational reason to have a rule against eating humans, but to exclude other animals from that. Animals have a will to live, and feel pain as we do. It's that you can't really go around eating members of a species that you have a social relationship with and still have a functioning society- namely other people, and to a degree dogs, cats, and the like. But its way easier to destroy something if you look at it like a resource, and dont empathize with it. It isnt right, but its what we do. Caveat: those who need meat to survive have a pretty dang good excuse. But the rest of us, well...
