Lots of religions out there who think they are the only way. Does God accept any ole worship? Or does he accept multiple worships? What a gamble.

wouldn't to say so make one a heretic, and they are really multiple paths to hell?

All paths lead to the same...death. So chose a path with heart.

Is there a god? Why do we think that if there is one, it desires "worship"?

Why would you need a path to reach what already is?

  9. If there's not, there should be. I think there are, because you can't even see God. God knows this. God has set this all up like an Easter egg hunt. We're supposed to wear crazy hats and junk.

There can be as many paths as there are people. I dont think God insists on one particular kind of worship. Doing good and doing things with sincerity seems the best way to honour God

Why does it seem that way to you? Where do you get your information as to what honours god? Or that god requires honouring?

I actually dont think God requires any worship or honouring. I just think the actions i mentioned are the most worthwile ways to live and celebrate life, which i suspect God approves more than anything

I would forge a third option :p But i can imagine God would pick the sincere praising and not the most 'beautiful' sounding option.. IF the almighty creator would feel the need to choose

What makes you think god approves or disapproves of anything? What makes you think he has thoughts and opinions like we do? What makes you think he is a being, and not a blind force for example?

I'm not sure what God is, but I am inclined to think/believe God does not think or has opinions like us. As the creator of life though it seems logical for me to assume that God would approve of us living our life to the fullest without ruining other lifes pointlessly or for unconstructive reasons. Why I added the latter is that I don't think it is bad to take an animal life to feed another life for example. It is all life and it was created to live and just do its thing. On the other hand, I also find it plausible that when people do actually pointlessly ruin other lifes and are completely oblivious/ignorant of it, that it might not have any divine consequence. When we are aware of what we are doing though, there are also consequences (active conscience :( :p). So I find thedopes descriptions of God being invoked by ourselves interesting too.

Really: nowhere in particular. They come from my associations of everything around me and the urge to ponder/hypothesize.

Also, to me it seems the most sincere praising (wether you praise a human, the life force, a statue or a doctrine :p etc. etc.) is when it is not required. So no, I don't think God requires worship, honouring or praising at all. I just like to praise the creator. To me God is a non defined (aka vague) mixture of a benevolent being and the force of life. I personally have no struggle anymore with/about God just because I don't have certainty what God is exactly. I also like the idea that God is the universe and we are part of Him (or It if that suits YOU more ;)), the conscious part to be exactly.

I think your noun "god" does not point to anything in the world and you are assigning anthropomorphic qualities to an undefined blank in your knowledge, or a conceptual conglomerate of various qualia around you, such as "beauty" and "the idea of the highest thing". I think it's interesting that you feel comfortable discoursing in such detail about something of which you fundamentally know not a lick and in fact fundamentally does not appear that any lick be knowable, if it be on a subject which doesn't exist.

Nobody knows everything (or even anything with 100% certainty) about God, doesn't mean we can't comfortably discuss our ponderings or even beliefs if they are that. It seems to me you are often attributing stuff on theists that are unnecessary and uncertain where it comes to the individual just the same. I do not use any belief as a substittute for knowledge for example. I acknowledge I have a genuine interest in and thoughts on this topic, where you seem to mostly be annoyed when others proclaim their sincere (yet uncertain) thoughts and beliefs of God, just because they are uncertain. Well brother, I am not certain at all. I just give praise to what I call the creator. I don't see what needs to be questioned about that by others? Personally I find it equally interesting how smart, openminded and philosophizing people would find it curious I am comfortable discussing my thoughts on this matter. For real :)
