Not since they buried 'him' in San Francisco in . . . when was that . . . 1965 0r 66. After that it just became another fad.
If being a hippie isn't hip then it should be in my opinion. To me hippie means freedom. Freedom of all of your inhibitions. I absolutely love it when people do what they want to do, even and especially if it isn't the norm.
Since some say "it's Hip to be Square"!! = lol For me the wind blows and wheels turn, Hip is for the day Hippie lasts Forever
I think one of the main things a hippie is, is "non-conformist" and I think that being "hip" basically means conforming to society's standards of what is "cool." So, in my opinion, true hippies are not "hip." They are themselves, and that is what makes them a true hippie.
Gonna go with this one, I gave it a rep also. Hippie people IMO are just people who are themselves, back in the day there was maybe a statement to make but now that we know what it is, do we care? No, people should all be themselves, comfort as they will or will not, where they will or will not, being trendy costs money IMO, and just being yourself is to be true, if that's hippie then great, be true to yourself and enjoy life, don't cause harm and all is good.
Hippies are hip, although if your a hippie and are too concerned about being hip, then it's not hip to be too hip. ....................Being hip is so over-rated :hippy: Sx
personally i don't believe hip is hip. but on the other paw, those to whom the label hippie was first applied, were on what is still the right track. which is not the same as those who joined the bandwagon looking for the hedonistic indulgence corporate media deliberately miss-portrayed them as.
The original hippies had some very real reasons for their beliefs. I remember this, but vaguely. My parents didn't like it, but somehow I understood perfectly, young as I was. And the older I got, the more I understood. Me and my parents still wouldn't agree on this, but it's all in good. Hippie forever, in mind and spirit. May we live on...
