Are Hemp Clothes Illegal in the U.S.?

I have a couple of hemp blouses that are very comfortable, because hemp clothe wears better that cotton or linen. A friend of mine told me, if you wear hemp clothes on the plane and go through customs in JFK or LAX the customs officials will literally rip the shirt of your back. Is this true?

 

everything is illegal in the U.S the only thing your allowed to do is after work watch the local tv 3 hours of bad news and then go to bed ...get up the next day and do it all over again.

 

Hemp products are not illegal, I actually brought a vinyl copy of Bob Marley's greatest hits not that long ago, and it came in a nifty cloth outer case made of hemp.

of course it's legal, it's the fiber of the stalks of the plant.
alot of americans wear hemp jewelry, clothes, use hemp products and eat hemp foods.

In the U.S. Controlled Substances Act (which is the federal law that makes cannbis illegal) specifically says that the stalks, fibers and sterile seeds of the plant are exempt so they are perfectly legal. California law is the same. Maybe some states have some other wierd laws, I don't know. Most bird seed sold in pet shops contain sterile hemp seeds. Hemp is still an industrial fiber crop in parts of the world and an important one. Saved the U.S. in WW2 when other fiber supplies were cut off. "Hemp for Victory" George Bush senior's life was saved by a hemp parachute when he got shot down.

 

I use hemp chapstick. Hemp's totally fine, you can get the string stuff to make necklaces, etc..

It's illegal to grow hemp, but not to posess the end product, most hemp is imported from canada.

Sorry to impress you with my naiveness, but what can you expect when you live in a socialist state that plasters you everyday with reports of how the good ol' U.S. of A. is gradually becoming a NAZI state?

The laws governing substance use are strange here. You can legally grow hemp if you have a permit as a EU farmer. You can even buy the seeds in a pet store. You can go to Holland and smoke it until you get a cramp in your brain, but you can't sell it or import it. (Go figure!)

Now they are arguing about letting everyone grow it to replace paper. Economically it's a pretty good idea. Hemp gives you 3 crops a year, while you only get 1 crop every 20 years with trees. But it's the same old story the thought police say that nobody will get anything done if they're toking all day.

 

its not THAT bad people realy over do alot of stuff, the US image is very twisted, there are definitly problems but i pretty much live my life and do whatever i want
