Bought Arcade Fire's album "Funeral" today and have listened to it twice so far...and my initial impression's are excellent..anyone here a fan?..they're playing live an a festival here in a few day's ,sadly it's too expensive for me to go..but i shall definitely be catching them again when they return.
Arcade Fire are great!! The album is very original and there are some truly excellent songs on it. the new single Rebellion (lies) always gives me some special, but great feeling. I also like the lyrics of that song a lot.
Man, I've been waiting for something about the Arcade Fire. "Funeral" is an amazing album. Every track is so melodic and the writing is exceptional. "Une Annee Sans Lumiere" is one of my favorite songs now. Win Butler should get an award or something.
Yeh though i think the whole band are due some kudo's. They're getting killer review's for their live gig's so word of mouth is spreading fast..me being an example.
Been listening to the album all day..all the songs are amazing but "Wake up" is really sticking with me at the moment..gotta love that intro.
Hey dedhead95 I was wondering somthing ,at the record shop today i noticed another earlier album by the band..their first Lp i think..though i never caught the name of it....do you have this?..worth picking up aswell?
I believe you're thinking of their self-titled debut. If so, yes..I would check it out. I didnt get a chance to listin to the whole thing (just the first few tracks) but I really liked what I heard
I'm just listening to a couple of tracks online now.... very good stuff. They played in Ireland about a week back at a festival and everyone I've talked to who was there said they were the highlight of the weekend.
i freakin adore arcade fire. Sigh, unfortunately they're not at all well known in NZ (they deserve so much more). I don't have an album of my own (yet..) but neighbourhood #1 (tunnels) is an amazing song, and yeah I love rebellion and une annne sans lumiere too. *sigh* i'm glad other people appreciate their awesomeness.
I fucking love them! I get to see them at Austin City Limit's in a couple weeks; I'll let you know how they are live.
I saw a show of them on tv when they played in the Netherlands. They're pretty good live. It's also cool that they change from instrument between the songs. Rebellion is one of the few songs of them that impress me, though.
