   I can understand businesses closing for the ceremony and march, but why do they close all day on Anzac day?

   I dunno. Out of respect for those who fought and died for our freedom? Most people reflect the entire day, I would think. I usually work it.
   
   They close for the Melbourne Cup, NT picnic day and Bank Holiday too.
