    ok, the angle of elevation of the sun is decreasing at a rate of 0.25 rad/h. How fast is the shadow cast by a 400 ft-tall building increasing when the angle of elevation is (<pi>/6)?

    i just cant figure out the equation, i know i should use implicit differentation, but i dont know how to set it up... any help would be awesome ash

    use this equation.

    h= d Tan (theta)
    differentiate both sides

    you know (theta) and d(h)/dt, plug that and solve for d(d)/dt.

    yes.

    And I edited the equation.

    it is actually h = d tan (theta).. use derivative of a product while differentiating right hand side.

    I would help but I dropped out of calculus last semester. Why? Because I'm senior, and I don't have to take that shit! I had all my credits.
