ok see heres the thing, auster is like, existential fiction. New York Trilogy includes City of Glass and 2 others. his work is hard to describe & i cant imagine making any of it into movies, which is therefore good. they tried with one book of his, cant remember name, but not nearly as good as the book. some of his work is nyc related, organically tied into his novellas which is what the Trilogy is made of unless he considers them long short stoires. i heard him read his other works once and dug it. i admire what he's doing. one work starts out with the wrong number gimick, and uses mr blue, mr green and like that. sometimes people just dissolve, but not in sci fi way, more in existential way. you really gotta read his fiction, superb. he writes poems too but i dont like em much. dont know what he's been up to lately but the Trilogy, it'll whet yr appetite for all things auster. who's interesting enuf to be an auster fan????? michaela fraze
