These guys are on another planet far into the galaxy. hah they make some of the most psychedelic music iver heard. Very strange and sometimes silly but still can make some amazing material.

It's pretty hard for me to get into their stuff. But you're right, one of the most psychedelic bands I've heard! They're good, but not for every day.

Been listening to Gong for a good 14 years now. I was supposed to take a trip to England with one of my exes back in 2001 and planned on seeing them on Halloween, but that trip never happened thanks to the evil assholes. Have you heard Daevid Allen's University Of Errors? Very good stuff as well.

I've heard some of their instrumental stuff where the bassist REALLY shines. Very odd and colorful grooves coming from him. It kinda reminded of Brand X (if you don't know them, check out the song Xanax Taxi for a pleasent experience)

I'm a long-time Gong freak. I had the chance to see them at the Amsterdam Paradiso in 1975, after Daevid Allen had left the band. They did all the trilogy material with Steve Hillage singing lead. Great great show. My travelling companions were very thankful I talked them in to going.

Daevid Allen is still very active at 70 years of age. If you ever get a chance to be in his presence by all means take it. He's one of the great spirits on the planet today.

Steve Hillage is also good freak ;)
First song which I heard and started to be into Gong was Master Builder. Absolutely dimensional thing. But I know this band for a short time.

I found this advertisement few days before http://www.last.fm/event/835050 and I hope, there will be everything OK and I will go!

Gong are one of my favorite bands. I love both the psychedelic and fusion stuff, but more so the former. I have a few live and BBC performances that are awesome too.

Hmm, I think I should do a Radio Gnome Invisible marathon soon since surprisingly I haven't yet. Lately since I've been home for break, all I do is have music marathons (sometimes instead play video games but usually then muted for music over it) and smoke pot, it's pretty fantastic. Right now I'm doing a Can marathon, awesome X-mas eve so far. :D
