Anyone in the US ordered dried cactus?

this is a question of legality... i know that live cacti are often bought & sold as decorative items in the united states, but would dried cactus chips/dried cactus incense powder fall into the category of "illegal"? even if the website explicitly states "NOT for human comsumption"?

my order would total 150 or 250 grams... even though i do not plan on using it for anything illegal, i don't want to run into any risks... but a friend of mine recently told me that dried cactus may be an issue.

can anyone help with this? would it be even more "shady" if the package was coming from another country like peru?

 

I've had a few kg of San Pedro powder shipped from Peru. The last one got stopped in Customs, opened and sent on its way with no problems. It is legal, 100%.

my friend told me that it was questionable and raised some concerns, and i was gonna buy a live cactus 'cause it's way less sketchy, but honestly i could get SUCH a better deal if i order dried chips... so i guess even if it's sketchy, they can't do anything about it if it's not against the law.

 

I have done it (peru, 900g) and would again....but I don't think it's 100% safe.

If they find a powder or chips containing mescaline (which is illegal) they could keep it in customs...and if they really wanted to spend the time and money, they could let if through and bust you when you receive it. There are definitely people concerned on some other forums.

But, I don't think it has ever happened (no one busted in the US), so for such a small amount, I'd say it's fine.

(I never actually tried the powder I got....and it's been over a year. Ive just had other things when I wanted to trip (and not usually 14 hours) so I've left it sealed up. I hope it's actually good. I heard someone say they just got a stomach ache from the same source recently on another forum.....but others say it's good. Soon....)

They could get you if they really wanted to, but they won't want to. Unless you are known to be a big seller, they will not put the effort into opening the package, setting up a sting, raiding your house, and all of the paperwork that goes on with that stuff. Especially since it is legal. I have had cannabis seeds shipped to my house from out of country, and all of my orders arrived on time and safely. The only people customs seem to go after are big dealers. I remember one person being raided a while ago on shroomery or something.

(To explain myself, in fact, I found the po box route to be more sketch than the house route, because I would always be paranoid about having one or two pieces of mail occasionaly come to my po box while tons went to my house.)

hmm yeah that's what i'm figuring... i'm sure they have better things to worry about than 150 grams of some kinda legal cactus.

thing is, i can only mail stuff to my friends dorm, and he's saying the mail is really lax there and to not worry about it at all (he had some other herbs sent), but i don't want to screw him or make any problems over there...

Ive done it several times. It was powdered P.torch each time. Never had a problem, it is incense after all.

 

that is true, it is just incense, but it does have potential to raise concern that i don't even want to deal with.

powder is one thing... are "dried chips" a worse idea to buy? those seem like they may draw even more attention.

 

The guy you ordered from is a good vendor Cherokee. I have a shipment from him on the way as we speak.

 

This obviously isn't in the US, but I just wanted to add that I had asked a vendor about shipping dried cactus to Canada, and he ships from Peru.
He said it would not be possible since all his cactus shipments keep getting intercepted at the Canadian Border.

Not particularly.

They are chipped or powdered for efficient drying and long term storage. The chips and powder are made from the most potent part of the cactus.

Depends.
You can eat it straight and get effects.. some people prefer to extract the mescaline.

 

I don't see what people are whining about. OK, so it tastes a bit bitter, but damn I've had worse.

 

ive recently seen a show on discovery or nat geo whatever----its used in religion in peru with a shaman-priest leads a group trip----dude just took cacti picked up at open air market cut it into chips boiled it----then gave various doses-depended on shaman half cup something like that--alot of the trippers just puked on themselves while coming on--then just reportd good mescaline trips---remember its reigion used responsible shamam had tripped -2-3 times a week for 40 years--and was a healer---awsome show--if its mescaline i recommend it 100% but remember the pure makes u puke not like the powder we used to get no puke just a great trip-----practical magic with that shit---if anyone get some and uses it please let me know if you tripped magically---tia
