It is not like a blog or a forum like hip forums. It is like an online messaging service that you post a few lines about what you are doing. You can follow other people and they can follow you. (As long as you don't block them) I am experimenting with this so I can twitter with people who like gardening. As I am in the seed business I need contact with my target market. Just curious if any of you use it. Edit: This is a very old thread. I was looking at various social networking tools. Twitter is useless for what I want to do. I know other people can use twitter successfully. Just not me and my objectives. For my business I found it was pretty ineffective. The problem with various social networking tools is often you spend more time twittering about what you are doing than actually running your business. I suppose if I was a slime ball politician or a news reporter, it might have some value. But for my business, writing articles and having blogs are a more effective tool for what I do.
Ive started to be less and less fond of such internet devices, even considered removing my facebook...but if it isnt such a personal thing, it could be good....I havnt ever been on a twitter site though
I understand about myspace. I was never cool enough to have a my space page. All twitter wants to know is what are you doing right now. Then You write a few sentences and post. Your profile can have as much or as little info as you want. You can make all your postings private. You can upload whatever photo you want. I am just playing with it because I have seen lots of buzz about it.
I'm twittering with Stephen fry at the moment. Don't why, just to try it out. I can't believe this guy spends all day twittering about his life, it's quite sad. Fry is exactly the kind of bloke I'd have thought to be highly cynical about it all, but it turns out he isn't...
I just fucking heard it again, what is with Americans and these fucking stupid fads? And it's the bloody adults who are doing it, not even the teeny boppers.
I am thinking of using it to promote my Etsy site since sales seemed to level off the past few days. I have been hesistant, but it's worth a try!
I think it will turn into another form of online chat before long. Like a cross between aol chat rooms and myspace. I've only heard about it once before though, a few weeks ago. I am curious to see if it will make it.
What is it with Australians talking so much shit on America? Anyway, I don't have an account there and don't foresee myself getting one. I never change my status on MySpace, why would I there?
I think it's for people who like to brag what they're doing at all moments of the day. I have friends that do that on MySpace. It's kind of annoying, lol.
