Anyone here into boats , yachts , the Ocean and all that?
( if you any of u British see yourself as a Captain Birdseye , I'll report u to mods; ))

I dont mean the "bling factor" and all that shit but the lifestyle , sort of not having set routes.Travelling from harbour to harbour etc , following the good weather and all that.

One of my friends said he found it boring.Another loved it.

If it was compatible with your work and life, would u think "yeah sounds good"?

Personally I think it sounds fun , for part of the year atleast.
Contantly exploring /moving sounds good, but I dunno.
( scratches head looking at pouring English rain and cold outside)

 

Oh man am I.....love to sail, however I've only had experience actually sailing a hobie cat(catamaran). Sailing is in my blood though, my dad sailed, his brothers, my grandpa, his dad etc....Been on mono-hauls plenty of times, even stayed on one for nearly two weeks in Alaska, but still never sailed one myself. Actually, if life goes even somewhat according to planed I'll be living on a sail boat in Philly, then hopefully sailing the ocean. I can't even begin to express my love for the ocean....(in fact, wrote a song about it not to long ago)

 

i don't know how i'd fair being on the sea for a period of time (couple of months), but i would love to give the experience a go.

i do love being near the coast though. i love the smell of the sea breeze, i love fresh sea food, i love watching the tall ships...

 

Some people think yachts and think " oh thats all nigga bling" etc

But to me , it aint about that.
Its about the fresh air , nature and the constant "new back garden" type feeling.The sea feels like it absorbs all your stresses , its so big.
And lobster for dinner ...mmmmm.

When I was a kid , I used to dream that my Aunt's house could fly to places.
I suppose a boat is the nearest to that perpetual traveller's lifestyle.
I mean every evening could be like a holiday just cruising round the Med.

But could I ever become friends with Mediterraneans...?LOL

 

i would love to own a yacht. i wouldn't want to live on it though, at least not permanently. i need a yard.

 

Um, I love the ocean... can't afford a yacht. I could defiantly spend my life on the ocean though... I kinda wanna move to Maine and catch lobster even though it's hard work. Any work on the ocean I wouldn't mind. Then again that has nothing to do with recreational sailing... and that would be great as well. =D

 

Who's got money for that shit anymore?

well you know the only market that has not been effected by people having less money is the high end line... i heard yachts and stuff like that have not been effected AT ALL.

Hmm , NYC aint a cheap place to live tho.
You could fractionally own , or crew a boat/ rebuild one.Or a sailboat-vastly cheaper

The Sunseekers and Princess motorcruisers , you pay a huge xs for the performance , cherrywood , oh and old-diggers etc.Thats bling sailing.

Failing that , you could always tell some runners from the Gambino Crew that its "time to smell the rhodedendrons" : )

PS yep superyachts are the same price , but smaller ones its a bit more "buyers market".

 

I was on a crappy little boat on a lake...and I enjoyed it, would rather live on the lake than the ocean or own a yacht.. I prefer crappy boats and lakes...

 

I like the ocean and the beaches.

I love flying over it from one airport to another.

I love scuba diving. I like surfing although I suck at it. I like swimming in waves.

Only an idiot would buy a luxury boat. Just rent one for a few weeks.

There is no further cost after the rental fee.

So you can party on some else's boat and then they are left to clean up the beer bottles and spilled bong water.:cheers2:

I think you are jealous... That boat is player... Actually, I'd fix that up and take it on the water... I like old boats rather than yachts... Canoes are fun too... I just really like lakes...
