anyone good at recognizing breeds?

this is an abondoned(& I'm pretty sure abused pup I took in a while back..I think she's mostly pit,maybe with some lab.someone else tried to say mostly boxer.you cant really see it,but you can notice brindle markings under the black onher sides in the right light.her jaws are strong as hell,& her personality matches most pits I've known.she's very smart & loves to swim,is very affectionate & playful.just curious to see what y'all think

 

I concur with you. I see pit and lab.

 

Looks a lot like my girl Maya, who's a lab and pit mix (see below)--but the squarer head makes me think your friend that suggested boxer may be right. A mix of all three would make sense.

I was going to say the same - looks like a lot of boxer to me. The square face and the ears look VERY boxer-like. Maybe half boxer, crossed with a lab/pit mix, something like that.

I would agree regarding her lineage, yet more importantly, she is a very sweet and most beautiful dog! Rescue dogs are simply the best of the best!

 

Even as a pup, I think she's a little too skinny to be presa... those things are like pit bulls on steroids. I know a guy that has two, and he has pit bulls (the presas are younger)... they make his pits look so tiny, haha.

 

My guess would be diluted Pibble or Pittie and Lab.

thank you for the compliments on my pretty girl.I've owned dobermans all my life,1 of which was a show dog,& I truly feel this is the best dog I've ever had.it took me one time to teach her the command of "be gentle" to let her know it's time to stop roughhousing.I've never had to lay a hand on her. you can see in her eyes how appreciative she is to be in a loving home.I never thought I'd have a dog that wasnt a dobie,but this lil girl stole my heart,& I feel she was as much a blessing in my life as I was in hers
