i'm in the columbus area and its my day off from school and work, and i'm dogsitting and hate the cold, so i havent bothered to leave the house today. judging by the neighborhood roads and the fact that what little news i watched suggested even colleges and businesses are shutting down today, it seems like everyones pretty much just staying home. anyone know otherwise? not only are the roads in the neighborhood not plowed, there are very few tire tracks! this is wierd
we've got a foot since last night and i think its not supposed to stop till later tonight. Its fuckin blowin too... I havent stepped out side the door
i took out the trash this morning but dont know if they'll come collect it...figured better to be safe than sorry. its not that cold, its in the twenties, but it just keeps snowing. i dont have any idea how many inches....my folks are having a getaway in a cabin in brown county (i think....nashville area) and are probably snowed in an extra day or two
I hope we get the same foot that you guys got! We only have a couple inches now but it's still snowing and is supposed to pick up later this afternoon.
I went to work downtown at 7 and it was snowing hard, I left at 9 as they predicted ice rain. Its driveable out there, but slick, and its supposed to keep up all day...then go back to snowing tonight so its going to be very icy...I'd do what you have to do now
Oh, it's bad here. All of the schools in the entire area closed this morning before the storm really hit. It's been snowing nonstop here all day long and it's supposed to keep up. I'd say we've got at least 6 inches out there right now, if not more. All I know is I've had to shovel the drive and walkway to our house four times already, and everytime I go out there, it's unbelievable how much snow is there again. And everything around here is closing early today because of the storm. Good thing I've got enough food and stuff here, huh? This is what the recent weather report says for my area: STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION OF 10 TO 16 INCHES ARE LIKELY WITH THIS STORM. A FEW PLACES MAY SEE UP TO 20 INCHES. Can you believe that?!
I'm gonna go outside with a yard stick soon. I have no idea how much we have. Or I could just turn on the news. Haha.
damn, cause i was supposed to go get a haircut tonight coworker is also doing the hair school thing, and she needs people to practice on, i'm poor and need a trim....i figure for seven bucks why not. there arent like reservations but i told her i'd go once and didnt show up, and now tonight again. dont have her number, either. oh well. probably wont be there tonight anyway if its so bad out...
I'm going to smack my husband, I swear, I told him not to take the Mustang this morning. But would he listen to me? Nooo! How the heck is he going to make it home in that thing?
I think they are saying 8 to 12 for us. All I know is the restaurants better be open tomorrow cause I was really looking forward to going out tomorrow night.
That sucks. I'm worried about my husband. He works forty five minutes away and goes on back roads and he works third shift... leaves around 10 pm and comes home at 8 am. And by that time we're supposed to have plently of freezing rain and ice on top of the snow and then more snow.
Wow, 45 minutes away huh? Mine is about 15 minutes away on the freeway. I'm about to call him and tell him I'm going to get the kids in the van and come get him instead of him driving home. But knowing him, he's going to tell me to stay put because he won't want me on out the roads. He's supposed to be leaving early today, would be due to come home in about an hour and a half, but man, with these roads... One of my friends who lives a couple minutes away just called me and told me that the roads are absolutely horrible.
Well, I'm hoping his work will be decent and cancel. Knowing his work though, I'm not counting on it.
Well, thankfully, my hubby made it home safely. The roads are horrible, traffic is at a crawling pace on the freeway. The schools have all cancelled here again for tomorrow too. It just keeps snowing and snowing. Crazy! I don't think I've ever seen it snow this much ever!
