Do you just seem to KNOW from your pet's facial expression or it's attitude what it is REALLY thinking?
Tell me about it in this thread.

My small mutt always gives me this one face that I can recognize a mile away. It's the "I just took a shit in the house face and I'm totally guilty but I'm so cute anyways face"

This the Corn Dog, 14 this spring. Too much Blue Heeler to act like a normal dog. Never firgured out what playing was all about. Still likes to fetch a ball, but is getting blind. One toss of the ball will keep her busy for an hour trying to find it.
There is alot of non-verbal communication, not hand signs, but just a look.

I definately had it with my dog, Pepper. She used to sit on my stomach every night and we'd watch tv together. One night she jumped down and coughed a bit...not too bad, but I just got this feeling, so I called her back and picked her up and said my good byes, told her I loved her and that she was the best dog and that no dog would ever replace her... not thinking about it again I went to bed. My mom called me downstairs about 10 minutes later and told me she passed away. Loved that dog, she was my best friend. My Grandmother pointed out that she laid where she usually layed when the sun shined through the window, it was night, but she said that maybe Pepper was in the light when she went.... makes me feel better thinking of it that way. I've dreamt of her a few times since she passed away, the dream that sticks out the most is when I pet her and could actually feel her fur.

My Peanut is adorable however she suffers from K9 Tourettes Syndrome. I'm a nut so it's only fitting. She barks when she sees our neighbors every time they go outside. It's annoying but she's so darn cute.

I think she knows what I'm thinking. I can be in another room and start thinking of her. She'll usually come that moment and I didn't call her. We are never apart for too long.

yepper! When he's hungry, he stands by his food bowl and looks at me as if to say, "Comeone old pal!" Whewn he wants to go outside, he sits by the door, with a face that says, "my friend's out there" and he looks like he's gonna cry. When he's angry he rolls is eyes, when I cry he gets on me and makes weird faces to make me smile.

I got a dog named Put and when ever I say something to her see turns her head sideways as if to say "What the hell are you talking to me for, dumbass". And I got a cat named Thomas, and whenever I get home and cant find him, I call his name and he meows and comes out of nowhere and sits down and stares at me.

I think my dog Sundance and I have a physic connection. If Sundance sits up in the middle of the night because he figures he hears a noise after a few seconds I will sit up and it’s not because Sundance is making noise. (he’s like a ninja silent and deadly) We keep it pretty dark here too so I can’t really see Sundance but after a few seconds of sitting there in silence and darkness - I can start telling if Sundance is pretty sure something is going on outside or he was just started by a sound in the distance. There has also been a few times in the bush that Sundance and my physic connection came in handy. Anyway Cheers!

    PS to mlo

Your story was sad but cool and I hope I’m blessed with the same opportunity when Sundance’s time comes.

Well, I will convey a true story that I don't tell too many people about. No psychic dog whisperer here. This morning I was playing a bit with my Rottie and my ranch hand's mutt. First time we all met since yesterday and they come to greet me. I tease them a bit. I said to the mutt, "How are you doing today, Zig?" And he spoke back, "Woof!!! Growl!!" with a smile. Then, I said, "And how are you my Rocky Roo?" to the Rott. And he growled at me, too. I pet them, growled with them some, and came inside. I speak wolf. They speak English. Nothing really psychic there, but kinda neat how we read each other.

My first dog I had for 16 1/2 years and we were pretty close. Close enough of heart that I oddly knew the exact moment his heart stopped while we were miles apart. I had taken him to the vet the day prior thinking it time to put him down, but the vet wanted to work on him. That afternoon, he was doing better under IV. I wasn't sure what to make of it. In the morning, I awoke from a dream with my dog's bark that sounded almost like a happy/ playful farewell woof in whatever wolf language I know. Ten minutes later, I received a call from the vet telling me that my dog died 10 minutes prior while they were working on him with IV. He was a strange dog. Almost heaven-sent at a time in my life as a teen when I could have gone with a bad crowd one summer. He even broke through my fence once only to comfort and play with a sickly little girl who taught him more tricks than I ever did. We do have one tale surrounding him in which he was found hanging around with his Dobie girlfriend, yet we could find no breaks in the 12 foot fence. No holes underground. No breaks in all other fence or holes. Almost like he walked through walls or flew over them. I don't know. I had seen him scale 6 foot fencing before. Odd dog.

As far as psychic voodoo goes, I can only add that my great grandfather was once sent on a diplomatic mission to Japan. He was thousands of miles away when his eldest and favorite daughter died. And, like with my dog, he also knew the exact moment she died. Kept seeing her face on the wall of his ship cabin and was sick over it.

We Pacific savages are goofy like that at times. Often, we know when to turn right rather than left, when to extract from areas, and even what people are thinking sometimes. The jungles, forest, and sea tend to be our home. In the serenity of the outdoors our senses are thousands of times stronger and like radar while the noise of the modern world drowns out our ability to "see" and hear. As scientific nerds, our way is very oracular on chalkboards or even staring into space and blank walls as absent-minded professor sorts. In war, we tend to have eyes in the back of our head and think spherically

Ah, but, alas, if I were psychic, I would be over at my local Indian casino playing poker and blackjack! At the very least Roulette in Vegas -- a sexy girl in each arm with my white tuxedo and James Bond grin.

    Stirred, but never shaken. ;-)
