Hi. Over the last five years, I have developed a passion for a certain type of political thinking that I never really knew had a label. It wasn't Democrats or Republicans, and certainly not the Tea Party! I finally did some research about a year ago, and found that I pretty much agree fully with the Democratic Socialist scheme of thought. I also found that my favorite politician, Bernie Sanders, is a Dem. Soc. member. So I went on their informative web-page, and liked what I saw. I want to become a member, but before spending the $20 to become a 'low-income' member, I want to see if anyone else is a member, and feels glad that they joined the party? Just let me know. I don't want to start any political fights, just please give me the information I desire.
I saw you said that you don't want to start any political fights, but I'm sorry, I just had to say it; Do not give any money to those jerks. Liberalism = the destruction of America, and liberals have been destroying America for decades now. Only a good solid Conservative can save us. And yes, Bush, McCain and Romney are liberals. Co Herman Cain!!
Why did you have to post that? Seriously. I would like to know why you couldn't just respectfully refrain from typing that response. Everyone is entitled to their own political beliefs. In my particular life experience, I can 100% assure you that if it were not for welfare-state/ socialism type policy, that I would most certainly be homeless right now. If you want to know why, look into my journal articles. However, out of courtesy, please don't respond any more in this post. It would just be the tactful, mature thing to do. Thank you.
Could you do me a favor and post the website you looked at for information about this party? I'm interested in learning about it myself since I find the Dems and Repubs to both be a bit too conservative.
The reason I found it was because of all of the cronies on Capitol Hill that they show on TV, the seemingly most "for the little guy" politician is this senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont. I looked him up, and he is actually not a Democrat (although he 'caucuses' with them), but a Democratic Socialist. Then I looked up their philosophy, and it met my views the closest out of any political system I have thus far researched.
Way to much left for my taste. Just the headline"safe public employees, safe the budget" makes my pistol load itself!! I support Obama, not some leftwing nutjobs!
Again. No need to post such a response considering I KINDLY asked those who did not agree with the party to refrain from unnecessary political remarks.
Social-Democracy, however, wants, on the contrary, to develop the class struggle of the proletariat to the point where the latter will take the leading part in the popular Russian revolution, i.e., will lead this revolution to a the democratic-dictatorship of the proletariat and the peasantry. Vladimir Lenin in Two Tactics of Social Democracy (1905) Attention, must be devoted principally to raising the workers to the level of revolutionaries; it is not at all our task to descend to the level of the “working masses.” Lenin, What Is To Be Done?, “The Primitiveness of the Economists and the Organization of the Revolutionaries” (1901) Before joining read the literature of the party and learn it you do not just simply join, In the beginning we had to teach the workers the ABC, both in the literal and in the figurative senses. Now the standard of political literacy has risen so gigantically that we can and should concentrate all our efforts on the more direct Social-Democratic objectives aimed at giving an organised direction to the revolutionary stream. Lenin, New Tasks and New Forces (1905) if after reading you still feel the need to join then join
