i love tea, and drink lots of it, but don't know the difference between an english breakfast tea and an irish breakfast teas. the varieties i've tried of both seem to be straightforward black teas.

    anyone know the difference?

    okay, but whats the difference?

both are ordinary black teas. only thing i can tell is tazo's english is more mellow and mild than twinning's irish. but it may be differences in brand as likely as differences in style.

i like the irish breakfast tea, but i'm guessing milk and honey will be necessary. its kinda strong.

earl grey is one of my favorites, and the best tea for adding a little honey and milk

and btw, the tazo tea i was talking about is called awake, and on second glance it is not labelled as anything beyond a breakfast tea, it doesnt specify it is english breakfast tea.

twinnings is indeed much harsher than tazo. i've noticed this in the chai at least.

Chinese Black tea, is good, strong, but hellishly bitter, I use the sugar in the raw for that stuff, instead of my usual honey sweetner.

In hot tea I only use raw sugar. Regular sugar in ice tea.

If we're talking about teas that we like, or drink often...

I'm totally into Lapsong, good shit, I also like spermint black tea, oh man that's so good, my friend in West Virginia his grandma makes the best sperimint black tea on earth, i think it's just because she uses the sperimint from her garden.

Yeah I agree, but I've only ever drank Chinese black when it's hot.

I do like iced peach tea though, it's my fave iced tea.

I also like Blueberry tea iced, good stuff!

oh shit, i have so many teas and tisanes.

most of them tazo, which i would get for free when i worked at starbucks. i have a big caddy/dispensor like you see in starbucks stores for the tazo.....for their regular teas i have a bunch of awake (and got more today), earl grey, green ginger, and chai, as well as zen and berryblossom white. as for their tisanes i have passion, refresh, and wild sweet orange, and calm. i have one or two bags of om and possibly darjeeling left.

apart from tazo, i have numi's gunpowder tea, as well as their lavendar blossoming tea. i have twinnings irish breakfast tea, and a little bigelow earl grey.

i also have a ton of windsor coca tea......

yeah, i have a ton of tea. i drink a lot of it, though. its delicious and good for you. as much as i love coffee, it really overstimulates me.

same with me but tea is different, it's got caffine but not so much that it either hurts my stomach or it makes me too jittery like how coffee does.

And it's always fun reading about the herbs and antioxidants that tea has in it. depending on the kinda tea you drink. I do like most hibiscus teas, as well as almost anything with rose hips. good stuff.

Then again I don't boil water in a kitchen called Tea Time for nothing! :cheers2:
