ok I know a lot of people will hate reading this, but personally I am sorta glad phish is 'done.' I mean I love phish, a lot....but god damn there new stuff just sucks, get off your high horse trey...... I will forever love listening to the music of phish but man did they spiral down fast, not only with the music, but to me the scene has taken a big step towards the frat party type and also the way they run the business aspect of there music seems to resemble a lot of other 'pop' culture bands in the sense that its all about making more money and what not.....it doesn't seem to be about the music anymore unless there's a cash flow that goes with it....

I'm really not a big fan of Phish until I saw them live and they actually sounded good. But I still can't really listen to their CDs, for some reason it doesn't sound as good. Am I the only one who thinks this?

I love phish with all of my heart and I agree with part of youre statement and disagree with a part. I think that their music now is just as good as their old stuff, it just isnt the same. Phish has been around since 1983, so it would be quite boring of them if they never matured their style after all these years. However, i do agree that they were becoming way too commercial for their own good. However, you can not blame phish themselves for their over-popularity. In fact, their popularity was a main cause for the breakup.

Yeah, their newier stuff was sucking ish. I liked Round Room. It was a good album, but Undermind I've been told sucks, and I'm not a fan of Farmhouse...

It's funny though, I was reading something online (MTV I think...*shurgs*) about Phish breaking up, and Trey said something like "It's kinda like Led Zeppelin. How long would they have stayed together after their last album if Bonzo had not died?"

It's funny because that Led Zeppelin album and the one before it sucked. (Presence and In through the out door)

I agree, thats why i only listen to their stuff from www.nugs.net or i download their shows off the net. Live Phish cant be beat.

On the other hand im NOT glad to see Phish go. They were the best band i have ever heard (yes better than the dead). I dont think the scene was THAT corrupt that they needed to call it quits. During the summer shows there were still many kynd people, older deadheads and hippie families alike. I only noticed a few "college frat boy kids". If the scene was really getting that corrupt then why woulndt the true phish head/dead head/hippie/whatever you want to call them fans just order the tickets the first day they came out from phish tickets to weed out the frat scene.

Undermind wasnt really that bad of an album either, sure it wasnt normal phish style but after the songs got played live a few times live then it would be ok.

So to sum it up, i am extremely disappointed that Phish called it quits. They were an incredeble band which carried a fanbase like no other. They had accomplished so much but yet they could have done so much more.
