Hi, I used to come here some 10 or 15 years ago. Random was closed for...some random reason...I guess.... I made a few friends. Some of them, I heard died - and it really hurt me. Lady Godiva and Matt In Vegas. Anyone knew those posters? I'd like so much to hear from anyone... It's kind of...mmm...random...my dog had died and...I was real sad. Everyone came to me...so kind...I still have the msgs because I printed them!!!! P!erre!
what was your old username? i've been around for about 15 years, became a regular about 12 years ago. and after typing that, i'm seriously questioning my life decisions...
Tell me about it!! I've had periods of very to seldom activity through the years - but keep coming back - when important events occur - for to post, read though, gain the opine of others and interact. I guess the fact that the site proves in it's longevity, "Old Hippies never die, they just split - and fade away"
glen glen was on the first fleet to australia, scratcho was a farrier during the american civil war and Aerianne had a romance with a young artist on the Titanic and a movie was made about her
Welcome back Pierre! I have been here, as HipChris in the past... but didn't post much. Now I'm here every day holding a torch up for the hippest of Hip Senior Citizens, we should form a brigade or something. Get badges, etc.
I think there's an "In memoriam" thread out there. I'm not sure if everyone formally announced to be deceased is there, but maybe
in my defense, i've changed underwear twice in that time. yeah. i don't remember the details, but i do remember that he died, quite some time ago now.
How would you know if they died anyway, most users here. I say this because i have always been paranoid about some of the stuff here...even the remotest possibility getting linked some how to work. Even went as far as using a different email account to sign up here I dont use for anything else, well except certain in your face gay sites
I first signed onto Hippy.com in 2002. I was transitioning away from AOL after 10 years in the Marijuana Debate chat room. The only thing I have left from that time is the first chapter of a book I was writing "A Journal of Life on the Mississippi". Oddly the archive now says it was uploaded in 2017, but that's about when the software was changed to this current format I think. In 2005 I hung out in the chat room under many names. We didn't have to have an account to chat. Most of the time I was Yanker McShanker or Jal. In 2006 I signed up as Writers Panic, the last name I used on AOL. Four years later George came back after almost a decade in the shadows.
all i remember is it was before everyone thought the world was going to end in the year 2000. skip was more active, dnb girl wasn't there yet, and occam was. and there was a site called zen bazaar that listed a link to here.
Perhaps one of the worst things about sites like this is that we never know the true reasons that some members suddenly disappear. With the internet seeming to be here to stay, I can imagine a time in the future when someone looks at one of my posts and just as they are about to reply, they suddenly notice that it was posted 94 years ago.
According to this, I've been around since 2004. I haven't been on in awhile because I've been more fixated on Facebook. Hipplanet has a tight audience, but doesn't look to recruit from the entire planet. I like it here 'cause I have a good chance of finding some like-minded people.
Matt was a decent guy. I think he even bought a computer for a member that couldn't afford one. I miss Occam. And the Produ. I'm not sure when I came on, but I think that it was 99 or 2000. Hundreds have come and gone.
