I know this thread is old, but me! Well, it's actually my stepdads dog, but I consider her partly mine, since I'm the one who have her the most attention. Sweet dog, Nova is.

They are lovely dogs and always like to be in physical contact with people.
When one of our friends visited, his dog decided to sit on Jane's lap while she was dozing on the settee. She nearly had a heart attack.

Dealt with many of them when I worked for an animal shelter. Some people are intimidated because of their size and think they are naturly agressive. Not true at all. The small dogs snapped all the time the Rottweilers would pin you against the gate and lick you.

That's nova for sure. If you start reaching for her chew toy that she's holding, she'll growl, and if you get too close, she just licks you. Never bites. She's only bitten me once, not very hard, but because I excited her by running past, and she got a bit playful, so "bit" me without biting me.
