Oi mates, just looking to see if any1 raves in the city. I've been raving there, along with mass and RI for about 2 years now. Only been to one rave in CT (never again...). If u rave often in the city, I probably know you, or have most likely seen u around =P
The rave scene died in the 90s guys, along with the true atmosphere of the club spirit. When places like Limelight where at there best as the music at the underground raves was becoming more than a one night event the feds cranked up the heat and bullshit charges against Peter Gatien. The last rave I went to was a commercial one at Madison Square Garden of all places, they oversold the venue and riots broke out and it really was the beginning of the end. Recently there has been a place called District 36: modeling itself as a smaller version of the legendary Sound Factory and has even got Jonathan Peters to play, but that would be an older crowd, late 20s to early and mid 30s all going to hear JP spin again after a nearly 10 year hiatus. NYC is nothing but small scale clubs and upscale lounges, with no dance floor, and bottle service of $350 bottles of vodka and if u don't dress to impress forget it. Back in the day we would get dressed for parties at SF and cram track pants sneakers and t shirts in our back packs and change as soon as we got in. And then spend the next 16hrs inside candyflipping or whatever we felt like using that particular weekend
