In the US, when I lived in KY, we always found a jitterbug/ballroom dance in town and danced the night away. At our family farm we
often had relatives visiting from out of town over the holidays so had a pinata for the nieces and nephews (when they were young), a big enchilada feast, went hiking and horseback riding, etc.

    Seems eons ago now.
Since I've been in Thailand, I've been attending all the big New Year celebrations in the parks and town squares with their fireworks and concerts.
This year I have a pulled back muscle and don't feel so great, so maybe I'll be lazy and watch a movie inside or something.
I can watch all the fireworks from my 5th floor porch anyway.

Don't feel much like dancing this week!

    :coffee:

    So what are YOUR plans?

    ?

I'm going to a party tomorrow night. I'll either only drink a couple of beers and drive home or I'll take a cab there and back. Haven't decided which just yet.

I have to close at work tomorrow night and open New Year's day. I might have one drink after work tomorrow, but that will be it for my celebrating. I'm an old fogey lol

At 27? You should be raging it after work all night and then opening on no sleep! ;)

I'm taking it easy tomorrow night. For two reasons - to avoid any disasters or some shit like a DUI, and I have to be up and tailgating new years day around 10.

    Post a video of jitterbugging.

Our generation got old fast. I was doing that way way too young. Personally I feel almost like I could be a fucking grandparent, but I don't even have kids.

These days I just want to work hard and be boring, and find someone to impregnate.

I was just planning on staying in but my mother in law is pretty much begging to babysit and kid free nights are a rarity so I might find something to get into. I hate going out on New Years Eve, I don't like crowded bars or clubs on a regular night even, so I'm only going to do something if someone I know is throwing a party but I haven't heard anything yet. I'll probably just end up staying in and being boring.

I stayed in last year, wrote silly songs on the guitar all night, and went to bed at 12:05 and it was one of my favorite New Years ever.

haha I haven't been able to do this since I was 21 or 22.

It's true. I had to stop going to the clubs. Because it's like a chick grinding on me.. 'hey, you want kids?'

I'm a half step away from knocking up a lesbian for joint custody. I just want to see my spawn turning a ratchet by age 5, welding at 6, shooting a gun at 7 or 8. They're gonna be cool headed little badasses.

But seriously....the last time I stayed awake all night and went to work the next day I thought I was going to die. It was all great...even going to eat at 4 am...until I got to work. Damn! I'll never do that again. But in all fairness, I was older at the time than you guys are now. :afro:

I'm seriously considering it for a few reasons, and have the means available to me to stay awake. But I really think I need to get drunk early since I'm not working, and hide in my cave tomorrow night. It feels like I have a lot riding on the line these days if that makes sense.

I have no plans. Our friends we usually spend new years with are on their way to Florida. We were invited to my brother in laws house but I feel like that will just be a shit show that I don't want to witness.

Dude, you know what? You need to come to NYC and heres why:

    1) the ratio of single men to single women is 1:4
    2) statistically, women earn more than men here.

    Thats baby mama material.

    :D

Hell of a New Years thing going on here as well.

Um… I was invited to a Gatsby party… I might go to that or stay home and shag my man :) Would love to say I made love to him for 2 years straight hahaha.

The new winter shandys! Or left-overs from summer.

Can we please hurry up and get to next years summer shandy? At least it will be warmer outside. :)

Didn't they make an orange shandy? I thought that was one my brother in law forced me to try not that long ago.
