hey while were waiting i got a quiestion... im just smokin a bowl, wondrin if insects have THC receptors... and if so which insects... or do all?

 

i don't know, but i doubt it because they don't have nearly as complex brains as humans (or other mammals even).
When you think about it being high is all about the alteration of one's perception and if something like an insect is not conscious of it's existence then it couldn't get high for the same reason it couldnt love.
but that is more logic than science, obviously.

 

ya i dunno when your talking about perceptions of reality, its so hard to say on what level that could minimally exist... i mean self-awareness is one, but you wouldnt have to be self aware to get high technically, eh?

well one would have to have a perception of the world in order to experience an alteration of that perception. Insects are not conscious of their existence (to our knowledge) and are instead prone to instinct and the laws of nature. So even if they had THC receptors for some insane reason, then they wouldnt be "high" at all, rather there would just be chemicals in the brain that delay reaction time, etc.

if they noticed different then they'd first have to have an idea of what was "normal"

hmm i suppose, but maybe just enough of a shock would make them have self perception... i mean humans at some point went from no self perception to self perception, right? maybe over a lotta years i guess.. but id think thered be an instant of like 'whoa'... man just imagine being that first dude saying 'whoa'
