what kit do you have? have you ever played Sonor? or Premier? their both english brands and I notice alot of GOOD drummers use them.... what are yuor thoughts on DW? Tama? Pearl?
i had a pearl, now my brother has a pearl i do not drum anymore but i did for 10 years. tamas are overrated, they are good quality but i learned jazz drums on a tama and i had a hard ass time tuning it. i have played sonor before, everything that comes with them are cheaply made and break easily/the wood is more prone to mold i have noticed. not premier that i know of. do you drum? if so answer your questions for me knowledge. also what are your preferred pedals?
why did you stop playing? why was it hard to tune tamas? Sonor shit? WHAT? really? damn! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzFfNk4xGTE"]YouTube- Gavin Harrison - Sound of Muzak I saw him four months ago and he sounded so clean and crisp! I liked his tone. As for Priemer....I know Dan Zimmerman from Gamma ray uses them and they seem pretty big in the metal world. I got a drum pad and sticks and thats it. so I really dont know that much about drumming as to guitars.
drum workshop rock, great quality and superb sound. My snare is a leedyludwig from about 1954 with the original animal skin head. I love speed king pedals, anything else is shit with slow reaction. Premiers are good, but a bitch to have worked on if there is a real prob with em. I love the bicentennial ludwigs with red, white and blue clear drums, but the glue wasnt strong enough so they have become warped unless both the top and bottom heads have been kept on em. I love a good swish cymbal and need to find one... the one we used has long since wandered off. no, i dont play drums
i just bought a pearl export series with a bunch of nice cymbals. I have been playing for 4 years on and off on a shitty kit and now i got the real deal!
I feel you bro! I got a squire for my first guitar (crap) and had it for three years! Then I finally I a awesome ass RG ibane! How much did it cost you? The kit?
Dude am a guitar player not a drummer yet..... So I honestly don't knw what heads are or toms.... But I do know his kit is Sonor (English) which I heard which has a very nice timber! Also have u heard of Premier? Its also a English Brand.. Btw the term is timber not tone.
oh ok i have herd of both of those kits, definatly high end kits. I got the pearl kit for $250. came with alot of extras. im buying new heads for it next week. i cant wait to start playing shows with it!
too bad here in south florida i yet to get my hands on Sonor or Premier kit. I know a guy that has a Sonor kit and tells me it rapes. can you give my your opinion on other kits you played?
only played on an entry level tama, and a no-name kit. So the pearl i bought is definatly the better sounding out of all the drums that i have played
I play guitar and I'm teaching myself how to play the bass guitar now. Next I am going to learn how to play drums. I really think I'm going to get into the drums more than anything because I am into rhythms more than anything else.
You should check out that video of the drummer garvin harrison that I posted in this thread.....very inspirational playing.
