HOPE MORROW AND WICKERMAN dont mind me starting this thread for you both and anyone else who would like to contribute to the discussion , its just that when the general election is over in a couple of days maybe people can continue the anti / pro weed discussion on this thread , just a thought . THANKS .
Good idea. Legalization isn't really a big issue for most people in this election, and the LibDems scheme is no good as it seems to be based ion non-scientific categorizations of different types of cannabis. Personally, although I no longer smoke, I think it should be legal, and we should have a review of all drug policy as the current set up doesn't work, and the 'war on drugs' has been a spectacular failure costing billions. M
thanks bill ............ personally i dont like weed being called a drug as it is grown from the earth and is a herb , just like sage is and their would be uproar if sage and onion stuffing was taken off shop shelves THAT WOULD BE THE END TO THE GREAT BRITISH SUNDAY DINNER . :chef: [ soz just my sense of humour ] let the discussion continue .
That's what I need, and it's my right. I certainly don't need any more condescension from poorly informed anti-cannabis activists like yourself. ........... I'm not poorly informed, I assure you! And I also said I use CBD, so why you no listen? How then can I be anti cannabis? I'm anti legalisation .. I actually said I've tried cannabis, stop being personal dickhead, get out of your box.. I think I will wait to see how the American states that have legalised go on, before I would vote for legalisation..
Yet again, cannabis is apparently not a issue to debate during election time. It's never an an issue worth debating any time. Wrong, it's an election issue. It's an election issue for millions of people.
Legalize it. Tax it. Everyone's a winner. But it probably won't happen in the UK because the establishment want a compliant productive workforce. It's not really a health issue but more of an ideological issue.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/legalising-cannabis-47-support-sale-of-drug-through-licensed-shops-poll-reveals-a6976796.html http://www.nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk/crime-threats/drugs http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/drugs/Pages/cannabis-facts.aspx wide range of FACTS... so thats me against the legalisation of cannabis.. so change my mind...
It's not that I'm against debating it, just that as it isn't really a proposed policy of any but the LibDems who have botched it anyway, and won't get any power, those who want it legalized will have to campaign to get it onto the agenda. In terms of the average Joe or Jane, the Mail tells them it's a horrible toxic thing that causes madness, and that's where they get their information, often puffing on a ciggie after a night on the booze, which aren't drugs according to the same miserable rag and it's counterparts. It's an emotive issue which is surrounded by masses of dis-information built up in people's minds over many years. The actual scientific facts are completely ignored in the mass media, and the sacking of David Nutt says a lot about how much our rulers are informed by science, and how much by the Daily Mail.
Being stoned has never prevented me from doing a variety of jobs, in fact it's only made me more focused and productive. If companies want a productive hard working labour market then a bit less fags and booze and more weed would help to motivate people a bit more.
What bit of any party's manifesto hasn't been botched? I think the lib dems approach is quite sensible and progressive, as I understand it anyway. By all means have another thread to discuss weed, it makes no difference to the debate. Kind of seems though that a lot of my views on here are met with cries of "off-topic!" all the time, and it gets a bit boring.
Low grade stuff only to be legalized. 'Skunk' to remain illegal. Not botched? I can't see how you can be off topic on this thread as it's about the very issue we're talking about. And for fucks sake I said I think it should be legal!
Is that what the lib dems are asking for? It's still the best manifesto, although maybe the greens a little more progressive. Muppets don't even know what skunk is, it's a strain from the 1970's whose name has been applied to any sort of weed sold in the UK that's really strong. THC high, CBD low is generally not good but sometimes I maybe like to max out on the sativa at a full moon party. Skunk, real skunk is a hybrid with a carefully engineering sativa/indica balance. The term skunk has also wrongly been used to refer to sativa/indica crosses. The problem is prohibition makes it really difficult to grow high CBD, medical grade weed in this country and so we end up with nasty, chemical hydro with a really strong head fuck and not enough indica to balance you out. Take away prohibition and that problem goes away. Then, in an ideal world we'd be left with good quality hybrid weed that's potent as fuck, which contrary to what the anti-cannabis "experts" say is better, because then you don't need to inhale as much smoke to get high. It's the same effect. It's like banning whisky because it has alcohol in it, and legalising a lower % beer market. Yes, I know you are in favour of legalisation.
Oh would that be the time when Gordon Brown reversed one of Blair's policies just for the sake of reversing one of Blair's policies? When he stood up and declared "cannabis is lethal!" and then ordered Jacqui Smith to reclassify it, an action that she later went on to regret and came out in the news and said so. Fat lot of use that was to know, pity she didn't have her head screwed on at the time. And when Professor Nutt starting saying things they didn't like he was sacked. They only employ scientific advisors who produce evidence that fits in with policy they've already decided upon. Gordon Brown is a moron.
They were running scared of the press when they put it back to class B. The Daily Mail ran anti-cannabis stories every day for months, seeking to re-ignite the hysteria, and Brown and his cohorts caved in. Science was the last thing on their minds.More into pandering to the morons who get their information from the Mail.
