I think I heard something about this on the radio this morning. And I live out in California. Terrible.
Timothy McVey was ahead of his time and this is just the opening round. So long as money is doing all the driving and the gun is doing all the talking there is no way to distinguish the good guys from the bad.
Sadly, Cop killings in America will soon become as commonplace as any other violent crimes. In this case the suspect was white and well known to the authorities. Hotwater
These shootings happened 15 minutes from my house. When they arrested the guy they used one of the dead officers handcuffs and made sure they told him that. I'm so sad for those officers and their families.
I don't have much sympathy for police. Just gang members wearing blue. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see anyone harmed. But going out with a gun and looking for trouble is sort of asking for it.
These cops were sitting in their cars. He walked up and shot them. Not really sure how they were asking for it.
Might as well be gang members standing on a corner and wearing their colors. When money and guns to all the talking worth listening to what comes around goes around.
I couldn't have put it better myself. As long as the political will to seriously tackle the gun laws in the US isn't there, such incidents will happen over and over again. This is so blindingly obvious to the watching world that it's almost laughable....almost. Please excuse me for being so blunt but sometimes you need look no further than 'the obvious.'
Political will isn't the issue when a quarter of the population, the Tea Party, is always insisting its their way or the highway and even threatens to bankrupt the country with their endless obstructionist politics. Its the money and the gun doing all the talking while the majority stick their heads in the sand and keep asking, "Why can't we all just get along?" And vote for whoever has any real chance of lowering their taxes or keeping the country moving forward.
Despite the obvious danger - so glad gun carrying isn't a mandatory requirement for the British Bobby on the Beat
That reflects the fact you can drive from one end of the country to another in less than a day. Here in the US we've had to deal with people tunneling in from Mexico and drug cartels even building their own homemade submarines. A "Saturday Night Special" is a cheap gun made and sold on the black market right here in America. The real life fantasy of both the NRA and Libertarians everywhere.
It's far from only tea party members that thinks the police are only citizen financed gang members. They might have been sitting in their car at the time but you can bet that they were giving someone a 100 dollar fine for not putting on their blinker a few minutes earlier
So I guess it;s a lot Safer here over the pond then Wu Li Heron? As I said glad the Bobby can command a significant degree of respect through deed rather than threat
You have just as many stabbings as we do shootings, but its easier for you to enforce gun laws and your boarders and stabbings kill fewer people. However, technology is catching up and you can now print a gun using a 3D printer. The NSA has bullets that can even follow you around a corner and the last sniper in the US shooting at cops they killed with a bomb disposal robot blowing a bomb up in his face. The Pentagon has demanded someone come up with a solution to drones proliferating because with modern swarm technology and other advances you could literally assemble your own private army in your basement. Cartoon politics just don't cut it anymore because Three Stooges and high tech just don't mix.
I guess then, one must view it as the price one pays for technological advancement is the danger that it can be manipulated for evil deed And so emphasises the point the "Eternal Vigilance id the Price one pays for Freedom"
Here in the US one in five people belongs to the Tea Party which has dedicated itself to overthrowing our government and, according to forty years of academic research, are organized along the lines of a flock of chickens. In other words, the lights are always left on because nobody is home and they are literally a political machine running on memory alone. When everybody is screaming nobody is listening and words like freedom and vigilance become buzz words. What the world sorely needs is a positive revolution and entirely new politics which only a theory of everything can produce but, even then, it will take time to straighten out the existing mess. Time we don't have because in twenty years commercial fishing will be impossible. There simply won't be enough wild fish left in the oceans. Within fifty every wild land animal larger than a dog will either be extinct or only exist in zoos. Already there has been a mass exodus out of Africa into Europe due to drought and by the end of the century some 80% of the surface will become desert.
