I'm glad the hostages weren't killed.

    RIP Fr Jacques Hamel.

This sort of attack is one on the human spirit. I feel horrible for the loss. I hope France can implement an effective strategy to prevent incidents such as these.

Issue a lie detector test by an independent party, for everyone of a certain age, thrice a year (since ppl have been known to change in life). The test should be to find out ill-will or extremeist views. Those who fail should get random inspections of some kinds.

^Would prevent some of those problems. This screening of potential problematics should be implimented in countries suffering from acts of terror, and for maybe a long period of time.

I mean, if random inspections for doping can prevent cheaters in sports, then it via first a lie detector screening can prevent some likely problematics. I also think this could be an answer to bad people in the U.S. who are behind badges.

So what's the excuse now, for killing such an old man?

The poor perpetrators were denied asylum?
They were just confused and lost?
Oh buuuut the West is killing innocent Muslims too, we must try to understand them!!!
Maybe they were offended by some satire?
We must make an effort to integrate them better (because it's totally up to us to devert someone from terrorism - although sane and normal people don't even think of committing such acts, but whatevs).

This is starting to look like a war, and who would you rather see standing next to you? Hans or Muhammad? Jacques or Hussein?
    Let's be realistic.

I have changed my tune a little on the refugee situation to be honest. My heart aches for the innocent people suffering from war in Syria (as it does for innocent people hurt and killed in other parts of the world by terrorism) but I do think Europe needs a much more stringent vetting process in place for refugees. Although i dont really know what the current process is to be honest.

And i agree it is starting to look like war

"I am not an extremist" - it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
He was given every chance, being reintegrated back into society (the society he hates)...and now that society has to suffer because of him.

Oh and apparently he and his buddy used nuns as human shield.
You don't get to see such cowardice every day.
