I couldnt find the dye threads, sorry..

I want to dye my dreads burgundy.
So wondering what would be the best stuff to use that wont fade drastically, because then i was just going to keep them that color. Even when my root's grow because my hair is naturally dark brown/ black and i think its would look awesome.. :D

    Thanks

I just go to the store and buy a box of Loreal or whatever... It lasts a while.

i go to the shop and get some hair dye, whatever box has the craziest colour on it, it also helps if there is a picture of a guy on the box

you just dye it like normal hair although it might take two boxes as dreads soak up the dye pretty easy. I'd go for a loreal one as they give lovely rich colour.

Permanent dye can dry the hell out of your hair (if it tends toward being dry). If it's dread and super-dry, that can be something of a problem. Semi-permanent dyes do no damage... burgundy is an easier one to find. Special Effects, Manic Panic, and a really cheap but very effective one, Creative Images Adore. All of those carry shades of burgundy.

Also, you can mix semis more easily and really customize your colour.

    spraypaint........

I'm actually thinking now that maybe if you wanted to dye your hair bright red, that would be a thing to consider.

i bleached mine.....they turned out fine maybe it was cause they used conditioner when the lady finished but mine look great and none of them are breaking off or dry.... maybe it has to do with how long you leave it in too....

Semi-perm dyes like Manic Panic & Punky Colours need to be used on bleached and/or blonde hair to get the true colour. IMO it would be less damaging to your locks to just use a perm hair dye and avoid bleach.

I'm dying my dreadies today and i am super excited, but does anyone have any tips on the best way to do it. I am buying to boxes, now do i grab each dread and rub in the dye and how much do i use, so it sokes through? Or do i just go ahead and do it just like normal hair?

I just rub it in each dread, starting at the top, making sure to get all the loose hairs at the roots. Hopefully two boxes will be enough....my last dye job I used 4 boxes and I still missed a few spots. Good luck-post pics when you're done. :)

SO i dyed my dreadies, and they turned out dark burgundy so looks almost black but when in a certain light or the sun its redish/purpleish. I love it, but ill half to wait till 2morrow so i can take a picture in the sun so the color shows.i will leave it like this for a few months then go for a permanent light burgundy. =)
