One of my goals this year was to play a round of golf barefooted. Last Saturday, I met that goal. My FIL and I went out and played 18. I tee'd off with my Tevas on, but immediately ditched them for the rest of the day. I figured that spikes weren't going to improve my game any. In fact, I felt I had more control without shoes than with. It was cool to walk on the greens and feel the wet spots in the fairways. I did take care not to step on any broken tees. We walked since it was a nice day. I want to do it again soon.
AHAHA!! awesome!! my boyfriend wanted to go bowling the other night.. but would they let me bowl barefoot? might have to find out
Never tried it either, sounds like fun but it might be difficult to slide on your last step when rolling the ball. Just be sure the ball clears your big toe!!!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! yes it would! i've been in the arcade, attached to the bowling alley, barefoot many times before.. i'm almost tempted to go bowling.. just to see, if anything, they say something. golfing barefoot though.. makes all the sense to me in the world.. even with them spiky golf shoes.. i'd suck at it. i've mini golfed barefoot YEARS ago
pro golfer Charles Howell III goes barefoot when at the driving range. he says it helps his balance, timing and control his lower body. I've played golf barefoot several times, it is a great feeling.
I think they have the bowling shoes available, so that normal street shoes don't mark up the floors. If someone were to bowl barefoot with dirty feet, would the dirt pose that kind of problem? I'm guessing it won't. I'm in Colorado right now, and while taking a shower in the last hotel I stayed at, my travel partner pointed out that I made footprints in the bottom of the tub. I'm assuming that dirty feet need to be at least a little wet in order to make dirt stains like that.
When I was a teenager, "a million years ago", lol, I did successfully bowl barefoot on a few occasions. However, I have not went bowling in at least 20 years. Good luck Booga, and let us know how it turns out.
