the forum for christianity is filled with people trying to prove us wrong that christianity is bullshit. Fucking stop ok...we are all sick and tired of it...most of us arent gonna disbelieve in God because of what you say. I personally am getting pretty fucking fed up.
I will admit one thing so people dont jump on my back too much:
the bible is old and i dont doubt that things have been changed by humans for their benefit so i dont usually go by it much.

 

oh and seriously christianity is the most put down and "disproven" and harassed of all the religions

I'd argue that in the West, Islam is the most put down religion.
Although I do not always agree with the methods of some of the posters, some of their tirades end up in pretty decent conversations.

 

This forum is for the discussion of Christianity. Period. I agree, some posters come off a little more than immature, but that is the nature of the beast.

Lets just sweep all the evils of religion under the carpet and pretend they never happened at all. Let the world forget how Christianity played a role in such sick events such as the castration of thousands of 8 year old boys in Italy to the genocide of millions in Germany. Lets not learn a thing from history and live in utter ignorance because ignorance is bliss and the only path to God.

No, I will not shut up, as long as I live in a society literally dying from it's own ignorance. As long as freedom of religion takes priority over freedom FROM religion as if someones right to smoke was more important than anothers right to breath clean air! Until religion is acknowledged as the socially contagious mental illness that it is, I will not shut the fuck up.

As sick as Christianity is, as endless as its atrocities are, there is another terminal illness growing like a cancer, a thousand time stronger in ignorance and oppression. Islam will deliver us back into the dark ages. Ignore the evils of religion and it will come, it is comming.

To say that all hippies were into "acceptance and love" whatever that means, is a myth.

Not everyone bought into the acceptance and love thingy, which can also be viewed as another form of societally imposed restrictions.

As to some posters in this thread: two wrongs don't make a right. Not all christians are the same.

 

I guess the most annoying thing to me in this forum is all the people that say they’re Christians and yet deny the Bible which is the book that tells you how to be a Christian. I just wish you would call yourself something else.

I mean after all how can people get away with saying things like; As sick as Christianity is, as endless as its atrocities are? It is because these people that call themselves “Christian” have denied the Bible and have moved away from its teachings so they can do what want and still feel good by calling themselves “Christian”!

It’s time for those who really want to be Christians to follow the Bible more closely and to separate themselves from those who don’t, so it’s easier for people to see the difference between those that accept the Bible and those who don’t!

I'd say the most put down religion is more likely the religions of the Egyptians, Vikings or Greeks, and they make just as much sense as any widely followed religions, and are a lot older hehe.

At any rate, I see your point, Christianity is (mostly) a tolerant religion so gets a lot more stick than Islam, and Christians have had a fair run in the past, so it gets a lot more stick than Judaism.

I only ever have a go at the religious defensively, for example, I have a fundie friend who constantly says that evolution is nonsense and that vegetarianism goes against God. So obviously I attack his beliefs when he attacks mine, otherwise I just keep my mouth shut and allow other people to have their beliefs, even if I think they are mythological.

 

Good point! It's so common it might just be human nature.

 

I am not condoning an immediate push towards full eccumenism, but there are times that I wish Christians would be more tolerant of other Christians.

I am not so naiive that I think that we should all just join the same Church because not eveeryone agrees. But can't we just agree to disagree. Learn from eachother and stop denying the Christianness of other people?

I’m sorry, those are not Christian acts, and should not be condoned or excused and we need to stop calling those who do these things Christians because they are not!

 

I am not saying that those are good acts, but do you still hold Germans accountable for the Holocaust? Are the Japanese still to be held uilty for bombing Pearl Harbour.

That is the Christianity of the past, many developmens have been made since then. You don't have to agr with the Magisterium, or the SBC, or etc...but can you accept the sincerity of belief in God et al. of other Christian believers?
