    Salvia trip - 9/15/07

    20x; 1 hit off waterbong.

Disclaimer: It would be impossible for me to describe my trip precisely as I experienced it. I will try to explain it as well as I can, and to make it as coherent as possible.

I could feel it working as I held the smoke. I decided to let everyone know that it was going to be different this time after I exhaled (we had only been using some very shitty Salvia leaves, and before when a friend and I smoked the 20x using a cheap corncob pipe, it was too difficult to get enough smoke for a powerful effect). After I exhaled, I began to say, “Guys, this time is going to be different.” I did not finish saying “different.” I fell on the floor, but not hard. I began to sense things around me moving in a clockwise motion, and the position of my body was with my head near the 3 and my feet near the 9. This is just an analogy, I did not actually see a clock. The moving sensation only took place above me (imagine the top half of a clock). It was as if one has cut a semi-circle into pieces, like one would cut a pizza. Now, each “slice” was a color: red or white. It sort of resembled a peppermint. A very similar thing happened to me the first time I tried Salvia (aprox. 1 week prior). But this time, it was far more vivid, and I remember many more details. The 2nd trip appears to have shed some light on my first as well. Each slice, besides being a color, also contained within it a particular scene from my life. All of the scenes were from very recent memory. This is where it got scary. Since it was so similar to my first trip, I began to fear that the entire week I had just lived was only a part of my first Salvia trip. It, too, was a segment on the semi-circle. I was afraid that the segment would go away, but I didn’t want it to. I liked where I was. It was very scary. I tried talking to people, to reassure myself that I was there. It was almost as if I could feel the room slipping away from me, and I had to make a conscious effort to stay there.

Perhaps I was perceiving a sort of meta-reality. The peppermint like object contains all possible outcomes and states of being. This is one interpretation of my trip. Of course, I don’t believe that Salvia is actually a doorway to “meta-reality.” I am only trying to make some sense of the trip. Perhaps that is a futile endeavor. I don’t think so though.

All told, I will try Salvia again. I think it would be nice to be a little more coherent during the trip, so I could actually understand what was happening. But then again, that might make the experience even less enjoyable. I wonder if Salvia will allow me to learn more about myself, or perhaps even some external truths. What if it is a doorway to meta-reality? What if I would have entered another world had I not so desperately clung to the one I was in? While I find either of those things to be highly unlikely, I cannot help but wonder.

    On to the question:

I still have a bunch of the shitty leaves, and I want to chew them tonight. My plan is to soak them for a few minutes, then insert the "quid" in my mouth and chew for about half an hour. Am I supposed to not spit or swallow at all? Won't my mouth fill up with saliva that way? And what kind of experience can I expect (if it works)? Will it be less intense, but last longer? That is what I am expecting.

Any tips about chewing Salvia would be greatly appreciated, as would comments regarding my trip. :D

As for the first part of your experience, it sounds like you were about to have an out of body experience. If you have never tried astral projection before, your first time OOBE can be very very scary when you're conscious/mental/spiritual body(whatever you prefer to call it) is leaving your physical body.

I have induced a few OOBEs in my Sally trips before, the first time was very scary for me. Mind you, I have been astral projecting for awhile and am quite used to it. That being said though, Salvia OOBEs are a completely different experience. My first time I was not expecting it and quite frankly didn't want it to happen. I can't stress enough, don't be afraid. Some of the best Sally journeys I have had came from OOBEs, but I was willing and ready for them to happen, whether they did or didn't occur. Read up on astral projecting though if you are still scared or intrigued by what you experienced. It's a very interesting field of study and practice that sheds new light on many things, whether it's induced by salvia or just self-awareness.

As for your second question, I'm not sure if placing the salvia leaf in water would be a good thing; it may dilute the potency slightly. Obviously not as much as an alcohol based substance would, but it's still possible. I've never tried chewing Sally before, so I'm not sure how you would consume it orally so I'll leave that up to some with experience to answer.

If your leaves are of low quality you would have to eat so much material it would be more of a punishment than much else. I ate 20 mazatec prime leaves last night and it was bursting form my lips after 30 minutes of chewing..I didnt get quite to where I wanted, probably needed 30-36 from my estimate. This would ahve been even more of a mouthful..

However, if you are chewing, soak your leaves in cold water for about 10 minutes and remove the center stems. Go brush your teeth and clean your mucosa ..mouthwash is a plus....Go get your leaves. Roll them as tight as you can and chew them for 30 minutes, keeping as much juice as you can in your mouth. Happy trails..

Well I tried it, but it didn't work. It's my fault though, I chewed one quid for almost 15 minutes, but it tasted so bad that I didn't bother with the 2nd. So the only thing I got is a hurt jaw. :(
