I can't really bring myself to give a full explanation why it is necessary, I suppose it ought to be obvious. The way the Trump administration has behaved toward Ukraine and Canada is disgraceful. For my part, as an American, I would like to apologize for the Trump administration's behavior.
If I was running Canada, the boarder would be completely closed. The nuclear power that we're selling dirt cheap would be shut down and we'd be starting to build warheads with the fuel. The threat to Canadian sovereignty is dead serious and our reaction was not strong enough, the worlds reaction was not strong enough. Trump literally said out loud that he wanted to destroy Canada economically to annex and take our recourses. Canada needs to officially declare the Trump administration as a hostile threat. His actions and lies against us are crimes. There needs to be an international warrant for his arrest.
Ths US sadly thinks they run the world.......... There is a place near me that has a GOD BLESS USA sign and the day Donny yeslled at that Ukraine president they turned it off.... Its been off since!! Mr Biden also yelled and SWORE at the guy I read recently...... This country has alot of nerve!!
I'd love to say Trump's comments shouldn't be taken seriously, but given that he led a coup attempt after he lost the 2020 election, there's really nothing you can put past this guy. Trump's comments about Justin Trudeau were not only an insult to him personally, but to the institution of the Canadian Prime Minister, and to the sovereignty and rights of all Canadians. It was just completely gratuitous, unprovoked antagonism. Adding injury to the insult are the tariffs. I get that countries have disputes over border issues, but when you're dealing with a friend and ally, it seems like dialogue and negotiation should be the first step, not strong arm tactics.
Do you have a link for this? I think Ukraine had a lot of good will toward the United States which has been, understandably, exhausted by Trump in just a few weeks of his presidency. Claiming that Ukraine caused the war, and that Zelensky, not Putin, is a dictator, is beyond outrageous. I could go on about all the disgraceful things Trump has done toward Zelensky and Ukraine, but it seriously causes my brain to overload.
Yup I saw the thread a couple weeks ago on CD on the political base.. www.city-data.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3499423 Seems like he yelled at him for the same reason as Donny did....
This link says nothing about Biden swearing at Zelenskyy. Reports are that Biden realized the general population and Congress of the U.S. needs to be shown their aid is appreciated...as many "Amerikans" are pretty self centered. Of course Biden fully supported Ukraine, but there are those who will use this phone call to excuse Trump and Vance's pro Russian stance and deplorable public shaming of Zelenskyy.
Even if Biden had sworn at him, that's a far cry from inviting him to the WH, then throwing him out, and selling his country out to an evil dictator like Putin. The whole point was for Trump to humiliate Zelenskyy on the world stage so he could feel like a big man. That's not even close to anything Biden did.
As half Canadian and half American I can say this is insane. But then again no one ever accused Trump of being sane. Americans need a convenient place to escape to when the shit hits the fan, and if Canada were to become a state, then we lose that sanctuary. Fortunately, Canada's new leader looks like he won't be a push over. He's an economist so he's smart on tariffs and can play Trumps game better than he can.
When my ancestor came to North America from Europe, her first stop was Nova Scotia. After a while there, she came to the US. WHY couldn't she have just stayed in Canada???
