Just heard that on German TV news, too. Rest in Peace, Amy... her voice was something special (when she was clear enough to sing that is...) and she will be missed.

I did not like her music either but it's still a shame of wasted youth. 27? Like Morrison,Hendrix,Joplin, and Cobain?! Weird!! Maybe a suicide to be like them?! Doubtful, but who really knows. Either way it's too bad.

I wonder if it was the fame that destroyed her. Their are a lot of people who have died young because of fame. Not just in music either. Some people handle fame very differently than others, for the good and bad. Rip.

this just makes me angry. not at her personally but her situation. she had a natural talent.. that's a rare gift and she was too fucked up to truly embrace it.

i know she had refused help in the past.. but had also gotten some.. i guess it wasn't enough.. the right thing for her.

drugs and alcohol addiction is a disease and should be treated like one. what a fucking waste.. :(

It's good that her troubles are over. I didn't care for the girl, but it's nice to see she can rest now.

Shocked and sadened but also I can't say I'm too sympathetic. A lot of people don't have the opportunity to make something good of their lives and when someone like A.W who seems to have had the world at her feet blows it up her nose then it makes me angry really. Also I've long thought there's something wrong when cocaine isn't more frowned upon by society. Stopping cocaine dealers isn't just about the law. Too many areas of society tolerates it when it shouldn't.

this is indeed a very evil day. Amy is no longer with us and this was a real punch in the face. a madman killed scores in norway. my friend got ill and was hospitalized. even my 10/100 network card hit the dust after reading the news... :(

I agree. I didn't know much about her or her music, but it's sad to hear she's no longer with us. Why the fuck didn't they send her to rehab like Lindsay Lohan? Where was her help in all of this? Everyone knew.

Damn, that was wrong (and funny). Shame on you.

Seriously, I am saddened. It was only recently that I started to appreciate her talent. RIP Amy Jade Winehouse.
