Is the UK in danger of loosing itself and becoming culturally homogeneous with its friend across the pond? Would you see it as a bad thing?
Do you mean entirely.. as in no difference, completely mixed and the same... or do you just mean mix us all up yet keep our individual identities? I would be for the latter
It's an absolute travesty, nay, cataclysm. We're barely hanging onto the billion as it is, we've lost a lot of spellings, pronunciations and grammar. Not only has good english become an extreme rarity, but our own slang has been eaten away by yankisms as well. Next person to say "I was like", I think I'll wring their fucking neck!
You should listen to the kids, all their playacting has an american twang. It is the language of the make believe.
Well root culture's almost completely gone. the Aborigines are drinking themselves to death having lost their way of life, whilst the Native Americans aren't faring much better, and yet the yanks have the cheek to demand money from the government because their ancestors were natives, whilst the real natives up the road are having a pretty hard time of it and probably not getting much more help. Still, the lion's share of Africa is still very much in the hands of the indigenous populations there, and the British Empire were good enough not to stifle India and the surrounding countries. But when it's all gone, don't worry, there'll be other cultures, evolved cultures plenty of diversity, just as long as we keep it free from the virus known as the USA.
Raskalization= realisation + Globalization + Americanization with a twist of naughtiness. I really like America, I've meet some really cool down to earth doodles on this sight, if the nation was run by the likes of the peeps on the hip galleries they'd be no problem, fact is, it aint. So all we can do is get along and nurture the good and oppose the tyranny. i know that what i've just written isn't to the point of this thread, i just didnt want anyone to get the wrong message. "Bush" just another word for "****" really!
I don't think America is just to blame. Morelike, Westernisation. You see places like Thailand, which have hotels with running hot water and things that would be considered luxuries, but the rest of the country isn't anything like it. Tis quite sad to see these countries feeling as though the only way to attract people is to westernise.
