America has shown to the world where it's prioritys are. We can't respond to a disataer in our own country but ye we go to oil rich countrys..blow them up and rebuild them like we're some kind of God. This disaster has expose the neglect and incompetence of the Bush administration. Our resources have been spent on a war based on lies, depleting our resources to the point where we can't respond to a natural disaster on our homeland...how in the fuk would we respond to a terror attack? It's time for the people of this land to demand that this government be held accountable for it's incompentence and a thorough investigation as to what the hell Bush is doing, because he sure isn't running this country. America..hide your face in shame for electing a moron for president and disgracing your country like no time in history....you're the laughing stock of the world and you look like a bunch of fools

Saying you hate bush now is like saying you hate getting an anal probe from an alien. Too late and full of shit. We all hate bush. Except for the hairy kind.

It's not about hating Bush..it's come down to survival. Bush has basically destroyed this country. America looks like a wealthy gambler who was too stupid to quit and lost his ass, in other words....a dam fool. The problem is how does one man gamble our entire country and shit it down the toilet? Somethings Goddam fishy

Bush administration funding cuts forced federal engineers to delay improvements on the levees, floodgates and pumping stations that failed to protect New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina's floodwaters, agency documents showed on Thursday. The former head of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the agency that handles the infrastructure of the nation's waterways, said the damage in New Orleans probably would have been much less extensive had flood-control efforts been fully funded over the years. ugh, such ignorance and stupidity.

They wouldnt give us money because they're still dealing with their own crisis in the aftermath of the tsunami. Their problems didnt just vanish when the Tsunami went off the front page of CNN/BBC.

The latest price tag estimate for the total cost of the Iraq War as borne by Americans, according to experts at Harvard, is 1.4 trillion dollars. By cutting the cost just one percent we could have put in place 14 BILLION dollars worth of preparations and prevention. Even at five million per helicopter, that would pay for two thousand helicopters and have enough left over for 800 million dollars worth of small boats and buses.

    Bush kills. Really.

Ooops, sorry, I noticed my math error- for one percent of the cost of the Iraq War we could have bought 2000 helicopters at $5,000,000 each and have four billion dollars left over for boats, food, buses, etc.

Why didn't we? It was by design, not oversight:

    http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2005_09/007023.php

"Expectations of when the federal government should be involved and the degree of involvement may have ballooned beyond what is an appropriate level."

Those words from the guy Bush appointed to lead FEMA.

haven't you seen "starship troopers" ? a meteorite strikes buenos airies, supposedly sent from the arachnid quarantine zone. instead of trying to clear up the mess and try and get to the bottom of things, "the federation" sends a couple of thousand troops off to places like "planet p" to kill and get killed. war is always alot more profitable than care - hence america still wages war during crisis. even during the black death i think i remember that england was still officially at war with france though they were having a bit of a breather.

The dual events of cutting funding for levee repair and being unable to repond quickly since most of our Nat'l Guard is in the middle east may be jr's "watergate". His pre-Katrina approval ratings were already in free-fall.
In a few months he could be forced out of the White House, hanging his head in shame, just like rep. warmonger tricky dick nixxon.

nixxon's final words as president were "I'm not a crook", which of course he WAS.
In that tradition, jr's will probably be "I'm not an idiot" which of course he IS.

Shit...anybody with a working brain knows the reason noone will help America is because they hate Bush for telling them to fuk off...........if you can't see that you're as ignorant as they come. Sounds like we have some neocons in here trying to hide Bush's war crimes...nice try though

If America is a rich and powerful as it says it is then it shouldn't need any help. I do believe the UK is actually sending help (don't have a completely reliable source on that at the minute though) - which it really can't afford anyway.

How was providing Tsunami aid equivalent to telling people to "fuk off"?

And how the hell did Iraq cost 1.4 trillion? Mind you, it makes no difference - nobody says there was no money for levees or disaster relief because of Iraq. There was money. The government chose not to spend it.

Bush told the world to fuk off when he invaded Iraq. He's an arroagant bastard who thinks he rules the world. He disregards world opinion on any subject and imposes his will on foreign nations. Does somebody have to say common sense? We all know there is a shortage of national gaurd because of Iraq, costing hundreds of victims their lives. Iraq has sucked up this nations resources that where once set aside for a disaster like what we are facing..Bush thought we'd get lucky and spent the money on his personal adventure......now we're all fuked

Guys you and your countrymen/women had a choice whatever to keep/kick him.
Unfortunately, he still around and is just a wanker.
I am very disappointed with his politic regarding environment because it does affect me, even I am miles away.
You guys have the power to make this "unfortunately disaster" as his last task of his presidency.
From here (UK), we only see the mess happening in New Orleans and the lack of support to your own people.
Stick together and kick Bush out, for the sake of the whole world.
