As the Democrats have failed to clean up after the Republicans in almost any way; continuing domestic spying policies, failing to slow government spending, shifting resources from one failed war to another failing war, failing to reach common ground with the Republicans and up bipartisanship, and bailing out big businesses as the majority of American consumers suffer; we can not blame them alone.

The Republicans have been purposely uncooperative with almost any Democratic efforts; bringing the Government to a basic stand-still during a time when the country needs reform the most.

This is where the two-party system has gotten us.

    Don't forget America's other color.

Probably the only way I would vote for the Republicans is if they nominated him.

    From wikipedia:
In the 2008 general election, Paul still received 41,905 votes despite not actively running for the seat. He was listed on the ballot in Montana on the Constitution Party label, and in Louisiana on the "Louisiana Taxpayers Party" ticket, and received write-in votes in California (17,006),Pennsylvania (3,527), New Hampshire (1,092), and other states. (Not all U.S. jurisdictions require the counting or reporting of write-in votes.)

My friend was one of the 3,257. I wish I was 3,258.

So why would you vote for Ron Paul? From what I've heard of him he's almost like a third party. With him as President wouldn't that just throw a monkey wrench into an already stalled set of gears and cause even more political division?

He ,like the republicans, would like to get rid of social security and other safty nets. The republicans are, however ,itching to privatize it so that the bankers and their wall street friends can get their claws on it and steal it like they stole so much of people's money THE LAST 8 YEARS.

I found out Ron Paul doesn't believe in evolution and it basically made it so I'd never vote for him.

i confess to being ignorant about much of US politics but doesn't the tea party crazyness show that if enough of you club together you can have some kind of impact?

How many people their lost "private" retirement accounts when the Republicans crashed the economy in 2008? But, I retired with S.S. this past January with the same benefits as if the economy never faltered.

Only an idiot would trust the Banks and Wall Street with the nation's retirement system. It's like having a stray dog guard your steak dinner while you go out for a while.

You younger people here, take a little advice and don't let anyone fuck with your S.S. system, there isn't a better deal to be had in this nation.

No worries, most of us don't either.

Yes ma'am, it sure does. The majority of us really can "have it our way," but, a big minority can be a big pain in the ass.

by "club," I assume you mean "ban together" and not the "club" :smash: I would like to use on the Tea Party.

Miss Suzanne. There's a speech made in 1910 by a republican,no less, that warned about corporations and the money they spend to own our legislators and make laws that suit them. This monetary situation we have now has happened before exactly like it has happened under bush-cheney ,back in the days of the robber barons in the 1800s. It is a well thought out plan and it has become very succesfull. The shift upward of most of the capital from the working class is in fact a very well thought out plan. This country is on it's way to becoming a third world country with a shrinking middle class and a ruling class that has most of the capital and power, just like many of the 3rd world countries around the world because of that plan. Corrupt leaders at the top,a military of some kind to keep the people in line, calling those who think people that form labor unions to protect themselves from the excesses of the owners pinko commies or worse, the calling of people traitors if they disagree with the immoral corrupt leaders. The constant lying about our president by talk radio and TV-on and on.Any progress made in the last century,eg=shorter work week, overtime,no child labor,Women voting, social security, food inspection, bank regulations, civil rights, ect, ect, ---any progress that has been made was/is over the "bodies" of republican--conservatives. Any. Still the same way.

They can start wars based on total lies, send our young to protect their interests and JOKE about it. Bush="Well,I don't see any weapons of mass destrucution under there. Maybe they're over there" Guffaws from the suck-ass audience. I could go on--and I will another day--it's time to gag down some food. By the way, that republican that warned about letting corporations have too much power and were to serve people and not the other way around--was Teddy Roosevelt. I will put his speech up when I have time.--------PS=any working class people that even consider putting republicans back in charge of this country might as well bend over and holler--Fuck me--fuck me some more please!!!!

To be fair, I used to watch the Mort Downey Show. He pumped up the audiences and his guests to get the most outrageous confrontations he could. This type of exchange is what was expected on his stage. Mort Downey himself was like a political Don Rickles, but serious.

...which is why anyone who votes to put them back in power is crazy. They have missed every chance to show us why they deserve another chance. At least the Democrats haven't made things worse.

Back in 2000,I had hoped the republicans would win it all --so that those citizens with actual brains could finally see just exactly who they are, what they represent and what would happen to this country when they did win . (sorry if I caused that!) So now , SOME of us have seen and verified the knowledge that they are not patriots at all. They could not care less about this country--only the bucks to themselves and their buddies. I can not believe--but I better start,I guess---that people are talking about putting them back in charge!!! Unbelievable. What is it going to take for the working class to SEE?? Woe is us.

I think you're missing the point, these people in the Tea Party movement don't have the intelligence to understand the relationship between food and shit, let alone anything as complex as politics. That's why they have someone else program their opinions for them and that's why they cannot explain those opinions to anyone else. Read their signs, misspelled words and nothing more complicated than a phrase they pickled up from Beck or Palin.

I've been searching for a Teabagger who could carry on a decent conversation for months, and I've come to the conclusion that they don't exist. For them, this whole movement is about being told what to think because some people just aren't suited for independent thought.

These people usually don't vote because the directions to the polls and pulling the levers are far too complicated, but evidently Republicans have devised training programs to overcome these cognitive limitations. A look at the people driving this movement should give them a clue: Beck, a radio clown; Limbaugh, a drug addict; Palin, a mindless beauty contestant and Republican leaders who go from Congress to K street with multi-million $ salaries. But, alas, it takes cognitive abilities to see the connection between their motives and their rhetoric.

And, when the truth comes out that the same Saudi Prince who owns the second largest share of Fox News is also bankrolling the Islamic Center in N.Y.C., their gray matter neurons aren't capable of making the journey between brain cells to establish the connection necessary to see that they are being played like a finely tuned fiddle. So, they pick up their crayons and go back to making their signs without the knowledge of how to use a dictionary.

The real reason they call it the T party is because that's as far as they can get in the alphabet.

(never watched Joe Pyne, but I seem to remember the name)
