Really interesting and intriguing. I'd really like to try it. For those who've done it, what is it like? Yes, I looked on Erowid etc... But it's always nice to hear from fellow HFers.
They don't do anything for some people, and some people love them. Psilocybin is a better mushroom IMO. I tried them a few times, and it was a mild trip, but I have friends who were still tripping 12 hours later off the same batch. It is more "posioning" your body then other psycedelics such as psilocybin which even in huge doses is harmless. To me it sort of does the same thing as ketamine, takes you out of your body. If you didn't take these sort of drugs you might only experience this kind of detachment from the body when you die, or maybe if you could learn to astral project. So to the right person it can offer a unique experience.
its not a good medicine unless you live by them, and harvest them yourself by the shit ton. only then will you get a true amanita effect, and understand its meaning to other cultures and yourself..
Very very different to psilocybin or really any psychedelic drug, much more of a deliriant. My friend has some one time and in a kind of spur of the moment decision we decided to smoke some (which is definitely not the most efficient way of ingesting them), I'd have to say the entire experience wasn't particularly enjoyable. It was a while ago I tried it so I can't remember it clearly but I remember I just felt personally it put me in a strange state of confusion. Though I do remember at one point lying in bed and just staring down my body and it felt like I was just this head and that this body wasn't mine. And everything just seemed bigger for some reason I don't really know how to describe it. Theres a documentary on it somewhere I watched a while ago on it, I think it's called "Sacred Weeds" or something like that. Worth maybe watching if you are thinking about trying it.
Amanita M. are garbage. The effects are completely hit or miss meaning you might trip or you might just get nausous and spend the night puking your guts out.
pretty crazy shit in high doses. went to an all night party that was hosted by the 'ambrosia society' and they had about 12 gallons of amanita 'tea' (more like grape juice) and everybody got some. there was a live band playing and after about two hours of dosing the band was playing incomprehensibly, some musicians would stop playing for a while and walk around before starting up again. the drums were off, and some guy was playing saxophone really horribly. i took a medium dose and got some feeling of euphoria, sickness, confusion, and some general terror.
I tripped 3 times on amanitas, they were interesting experiences. I didn't dare to take them again since, as they told me last time they'd have a "surprise" for me on my next visit. The effect is completely different than psilocybin mushrooms, I felt like I was falling into some comatose trance. I passed out each time, the first time uncontrollably and the other 2 were deliberate (I was literally going to bed when I felt the effects kicking in) as the trip got more pleasant and intense like that. Weirdly the trip seemed to keep going even after I passed out, can't explain rationally why or how, but it did. I won't resume here those crazy trips because it will be too long, but if you're curious you can check out the trip reports I posted on my blog mtldnbfreak.blogspot.ca I hope this will help.
LOL... That's what I look for in live music. A drummer who can't keep rhythm, Musicians who randomly stop playing to wander around for awhile and a horrible saxophone!
