hi im curently 37 weeks pregnant and am 80 percent effaced and dialated to about 2cm. does this mean im going to go into labor soon?how can i get labor to come on faster. and im having pain in my vagina will i have this baby soon? please help i dont know much about this its my first baby thank you tawnee
walk, just don't go far! - my guess is you'll probably have that baby before we finish giving you advice - lol!! good luck, it's gonna be soooo great
*Shrugs* i was 2 cm and 80% (well, 80% when my doc checked for my second child, i don't think she ever told me when i was pregnant with my son; guess i didn't look smart enough to understand, haha) for about 2 weeks with each of my kids. My doc said (both times) "i honestly don't know, you could go into labor this afternoon, or a week from now" So i'm not even sure why they feel the need to check, lol.
Hmm..... I hear that drinking cod liver oil will bring on labor.....but I'm guessing all it'll bring on is a whole 'nother sort of stomach trouble. Orgasm's a good one for inducing labor........ and I imagine a whole lot more pleasant than the cod liver.....
well i just got back from the doctors and i am now 90 percent effaced and still at the same dialation. is there any way i can make my cervix dialte? or is there any way i can make my waters break? just to speed things along? and how long do u think it will be?
DO NOT try to break your own amniotic sac!!!! This could lead to all kinds of trouble. WAIT, the baby will be born when he is ready. Cod liver oil is pretty severe, it will cause severe diahrea, and terrible cramping, and should ONLY be used with a midwife or doctor with you. An orgasm can cause a ready to happen labor, but if that doesn't IT ISN'T TIME YET!!!! Be patient, it is part of being a parent.
yeah, my doc said sex would bring on labor. which made my hubby quite happy another old wive's tale, someone told me to eat macaroni and cheese with a-1 steak sauce. i didn't get a chance to do any of that, since my water broke before i went into labor - something you definitely want to avoid, cuz then they 'have to' induce you which is no fun at all.
Be careful with Black Cohosh. It is a very powerful herb, and can be dangerous, if you don''t know what you are doing with it. Do not use it without a doctor or midwife prescribing and being there while you are under it's effect. It can cause very powerful contractions.
Are you still prego? Sasha, my second kiddo, was 5 days late. So, I know how you're feeling and that you probably can't wait to get that baby out of you! Don't worry, the time will come. Take this time to relax and go inside yourself. Take baths, relax as much as possible, and ready yourself(mentally) for the transformation your whole being is about to go through. I know you've probably heard this before, but, your life is about to change, DRASTICALLY. There's no way to fully grasp this concept until you are actually on the other side. If you haven't had the baby yet, I wish you a peaceful and beautiful birth. If you have, then welcome to motherhood!!
nope havent had the baby yet but i did have a pink discharge today what is that ? it wasent like a bright pink or anything it was like a very pale pink. and i am having some contractions so hopfully it happens soon. my docs appointment is on monday and she might induce me then so we will see i will keep posting on here and letting everyone know how its going. feel free to give me any advice lord knows i need it . thanx
pink discharge means go to the hospital/birthing center/wherever you plan on birthing!! don't wait for your appointment.
Soon, honey, soon. Trust your body. It is doing what it was meant to do. I KNOW It is hard to wait, but it will happen. Don't let them induce you. You will have this baby. Blessings, Maggie
Princess, do you have an OB or midwife? Do you have any books re: What To Expect When You're Expecting, etc.? I will be happy to mail you my copy if you like.
Is it my imagination or is this thread over a year old? LOL I hope you're not still in labor princess!
It appears she was expecting a baby in March of last year, and an other in March of this year. (We never heard the outcome of the first one, a year ago. I guess you get busy with a new baby.) I am going to close the thread, to avoid confusion.
