Hello, I am a Buddhist and I do not meditate usually (less than once a week). But I do read a lot of Buddhist books and practice them in everyday life. But the other day I was walking and I just realized something it was "something must not exist to exist" from the top of my head. I couldn't stop elaborating enough on it. And yesterday I realized that the majority of humans are horible assholes and don't know what is happening in the world around them and what they do and what the outcome is. So I was wondering is this a path to enlightenment or is it just wisdom? It wasn't the normal feeling when I find something out it felt like I found something and I was the only one that knew it.
Also I'm starting to realize everything around me, like how humans rely upon technology which just makes everything worse in the future. I'm realizing everything around me and I see the fakeness and disconnection from all around us.
I've smoked weed for a year or two every once in a while but I've been smoking it 3 times a day for the last week. What does that have to do with it?
Technology is like anything else, it is not really good or evil, it is all how man uses it, and what man himself judges to be good and bad. But I do see your point about not existing in the first place.
im old not wise but i try..dont judge others--dont smoke dope be mindful in all you do, meditate often, be happy, love.. , your parents are human and have done their best, hug them
you're just growing up but this part is not enlightened [note that i am not saying that you are not correct in a non-buddhist sort of way ]
For a thing to exist it must be defined as a thing by the human mind. All is mind. All of the things around you are known as things because you draw borders around the ever present, ever fluid, body of existence and give them a names. Nothing can exist on its own, of itself. everything draws on everything else. There is no existing and not existing, there just is. Humans, and many animals, alter their environment to achieve their various ends. You would not like to exist in a world devoid of technology. as far as the future is concerned; worry about the now. You are beginning to see the interconnected nature of all things. Everything is related, most people do not realize this. I'm realizing everything around me and I see the fakeness and disconnection from all around us.
We're all on the path to enlightenment. So yes, you are on the path. Are your recent thoughts a sign that you're getting close? Who knows. What you need to understand is that NOTHING inherently and independently exists. All things exist based on a host of other factors which are subject to change. Thus all things are subject to change. Thus all things are impermanent. Existence and non-existence is trivial. Neither is accurate. Also, based on the same premise, all things are interconnected. Separation only exists at the conventional level.
Are we all on the path of riches, or to become great chefs. No. No way are all not on the same path. many people are cultivating the hugely gnegative karma that they will never have any hope to be unencumbered from again. But if your intention is to cultivate truth and be generous, then you will certsainly gain in that. Doesn't matter when you begin as mistakes need to be fixed starting when they are discovered. In a short time you can progress to be a more nobel person. Tantrikas are terefore called heros - viras and virakas - those who choose to make positive things occur are truely heroic. But even making the first step towards liberation, thowards enlightenment if to start to feel lighter and more free. Even from the first step. To acheive nirvana which is where karma - vritti - samsara subside you must stop harmful tendencies - vrittis - which are on their way to becoming habits - samsaras. Intention is everything. Maintain positive intention and live love and you will experience the goal from the start, though difficulties will arise you will see them as positive. In the length of life of histroy of which we are part of that continuum, we are therefore assuming the immortality since we partake of it. Therefore a quick and deep reintroduction into the heart of the matter is close to the very goal of liberation. :2thumbsup::2thumbsup:
