Does anyone use a keyboard layout other than QWERTY? I know that I could never use anything but QWERTY, cuz that's how I know to type and if I tried to type on any other keyboard layout I would be hitting all the wrong keys.

I really wanted a Dvorak keyboard. (The most efficient letter layout.) It's really hard to find a wireless one cheap though. I just don't have over $100 to spend on a keyboard.

I even looked into getting a wired one and some sort'f receiver to make a wireless one. I found a kit to make a wireless usb transmitter and receiver that was really cheap; but I never decided that it was worth all that effort yet. Maybe someday..

Couldn't u just change the keyboard layout in the operating system and rearrange the keys on the keyboard or no? And how does one learn to type on a Dvorak keyboard?

That would only work if certain keys; function keys, insert/delete, those types, were the same, because those keys often make direct calls to the hardware, like in your BIOS for example.
Then you would have a problem because most keyboards are "shaped" or ergonomic and each key is slightly unique in shape, so many simply won't fit into another spot.

You could however maybe do it with a virtual keyboard system.
Windows has one built-in I believe and I've also seen ones that project an image of a keyboard on the desk.
I imagine you could customize it to any layout, but don't really know for sure.

But again, probably more hassle than it's worth.

I have an ergonomical dvorak keyboard that I used to use at an old job. Haven't touched it for awhile though because I like my qwerty keyboard much better for gaming. If you do a lot of typing, like I did for scripting, the dvorak felt much smoother and easier after awhile. Learning it is a b**** though. First week or so you try to learn it, your constantly trying to fight your instincts and muscle memory.
