Some of you may or may not know how bad America is when it comes to teaching children about sex and STDs.
That being said, I'm a 17 y/o female who, in fact, is from the States.
My boyfriend and I have gone here and there but have yet to breach the surface of any sort of sex whatsoever, as the furthest he has gone would be fingering.
Naturally with that in mind, we're both virgins. I'll cut to the chase, though.
He wants to give me cunnilingus. Again with the point of us both being virgins, how likely, if at all, is he to contract an STD should we go forward with that?
(The internet itself isn't the most helpful, but I've found this place to be pretty trustworthy.)

    ?
If you are a virgin how would you give someone an STD?
If you are both virgins, it would be impossible to give or contract an STD.

Some people said they can spontaneously appear.
The entirety of sex ed that I was taught basically went like this: 'Don't have sex. You'll get an STD. They come out of nowhere. Any kind of sex. Bad. All bad. You'll die.'

What a load of shit! If you actually believe that shit then you shouldn't have sex period.

That load of mis/disinformation is the reason that abstinence only education should be abandoned.

Are you afraid that he is going to get you pregnant by finger fucking you?

You can't get an STD or SDI from someone who hasn't had sex yet. Use some common sense. If your partner hasn't had sex he can't get an STD and can't give it to you. If you are only having sex with each other and neither is cheating then you can't give each other an STD.

Actually, I take that back. I once read a quote, "Life is an incurable sexually transmitted disease that inevitably leads to death."

well, not 100% impossible. some STDs can be passed from parent to child, or when sharing needles.

it's just so unlikely it's pointless to worry about, especially if the boyfriend is not a heroin user.

There might be a VERY remote chance of a UTI if her boyfriend doesn't wash his fucking hands or only brushes his teeth once a month then finger fucks her or goes down on her. But that is a very remote possibility.

@ RevJC, its not productive to chew out someone who is seeking information for the ignorance that they have come here to cure.

@ Mundanis, any sexual contact can transmit an STI, but cunnilingus is probably the least likely sexual activity to do so.
About the comment above that you can't get an STI from a virgin. I'm not trash talking your boyfriend, but its your health and you should not believe what people tell you about their past sexual experience. Even though he says he's a virgin, he might not be. (You can let your heart follow what you believe, but your body should be more suspicious)

I don't know one, but I'm sure there is a site that has good information about STIs and how to avoid them.

    :)

See why the link to a good site would be better than asking this forum.
    We're friendly, but sometimes dumb.

Why was it so important to change it from STDs to STIs?

Oh its an infection not a disease

Well it feels like a friggin disease

(Not that I know, a 'friend' said that once)

One notable exception: herpes. A cold sore can transfer.
So, avoid oral activity with cold sores.
    Simple.

I've also read that herpes can also be transmitted when there isn't an outbreak.

On a side note to that after watching commercials for Valtrex I wonder what kickboxing and white water rafting have to do with herpes.
