Alright... would you kill someone?

Your protesting and someone allegedly throws a rock. Theres a few thousand of you. The police break out the sticks and start clubbing protesters. Some of them run, others fight back, others allow themselves to be arrested. Then a gunshot rings out you dont know from where. You take off running because who wants to get shot, you turn the corner to see a cop opening fire on unarmed civis who are fighting back. To your feet a gun. What do you do?

 

I voted for the first option but now that I think of it I don't really know what I'd do. I mean, if it's in the middle of a protest, and I see a cop just taking out protesters one by one, I'm not gonna stand and watch, nor run away. My instinct would probably tell me to join the fight but I don't think I'd use a gun.

sometimes i protest cause i know there's sth unfair to others, but maybe im a beneficiary of the unfairness
most times, it has nothing to do with me, i support them out of my sympathy. but to be frank, surely i wont die for it

 

I wouldn't pick up the gun, nor would I run away. I'd probably start getting people out of the situation...making sure others are safe.

Fuck the gun, I'd get out my video phone and send that recording to the media, police station, district attorney, and anywhere else I could think of.

But no, I wouldn't shoot the cops cause there are only two endings to this scenario, dead or in jail.

 

Cool answers. I relize it is an unlikely situation, I'm just wondering how people would react to that... Diggin the video phone idea. But you have to remember Rodney King. The defence was that he attacked the officers. But then again, this cop is using lethal force. Take that into account to. Is getting this incident on the news worth however many lives are being eliminated?

 

I WOULD STEP ON IT AND DESTROY THE GUN, FOR THE GUN.........Is a powerful tool indeed....one that must be proceeded with caution......man has made many works....capable of destroying all of humanity.....so the real question is....will you as well help destory the miracle that is life?

i'd shoot the protestors. Civil disobediance is still disobediance.

 

I would pick up the gun and tell the cop to drop his weapon and if he doesn't than I would shoot him in the legs.

 

Threatening them would get you killed as well. Surely this isn't the only cop there and the other cops see you with the gun and you're dead. Not to mention if you get caught shooting an officer you're screwed.

But to be honest those people who are getting shot probably had it coming to them. Cops aren't supposed to open fire unless you do first. The only other likely thing is that the cop felt that his/her life was being theatened and did so out of fear. But what would shooting or killing the officer do? Nothing. Killing or hurting someone is still friggin' wrong no matter who it is. So it's the cop's life or the portestor's. Either way people are getting killed/hurt so both situtations suck. You can't stop violence with violence.

 

can't lie... I'd blast him and vanish into the crowd. wipe the gun down with patchouli oil. and drop it.

I know i know.. i proabably should have thought more and answered differently.

I really meant the amount of attacks in generel..the level of 'violent protest' i imagine outweighs the amount of recorded violence the opposite direction.

matthew would run like fuck for a bit then stop and start telling everyone that the copper was never shooting and there was no protest/riot, it was a figment of their imagination. if there were shooting it was from the protestors themselves. even better he could ring up his bosses and ask them what to say, tuck into his depleted uranium dinner and join up for the army the next morning.

 

i would most likely start trying to get people to run, just trying to people safe. or freak out and hit the ground behind something and pray.

 

as soon as a protester acts agressive they loose, if we take a bullet who looses, when society looks back do u want them to say "wow police brutality is a bitch fuck the athority" or "wow why should we listen to protesters, aperently the police are the only ones that can keep the people in controll."

and if it happend to me i rather die knowing that my death will mark one more push for peace.

Given the choices, I'd run the other way. In a zigzag pattern.
With that limited bit of information, & what you're actually seeing..You came runnning from around the corner....
He might've even got shot first, doesn't justify shooting into a crowd, but that isn't the point. You've got absolutely no real clue why he started to shoot, or how it will play out. Life's for the living. You aren't gonna accomplish shit from a coffin.

I'd kill rather than be killed if it was point blank, & I had no choice.
